January 10th @ 12:00 am | No Comments » | Scooped by Aug

  • We broke the story on this a few days ago, and now Zentertainment follows up with some more detail on this highly anticipated sequel set to the great Jay & Silent Bob figures:
Matt Wagner has revealed he will follow up his Jay & Silent Bob action figures with Dante and Randall. The GRAFFITI toys, based on the characters from Kevin Smith’s CLERKS, are expected to premiere at the big San Diego ComiCon this summer. Wagner tells ZEN that they are trying to include backdrop dioramas of their respected stores with the figures, and he recently met with Smith to discuss accessories (DANTE: cash register, milk jug, carton of NAILS cigarettes, hockey stick, and a fold-out banner reading “I Assure You — We’re Open!” RANDALL: cash register, slacker cap, “Back in 5 minutes” sign, salsa shark bowl, and an assortment of mini porno tapes.) Plans also call for GRAFFITI to release another set of JAY & SILENT BOB action figures, this time as they appear in CLERKS, along with corresponding accessories, such as a boombox.

  • Thanks for stopping by today, folks — We’re stuck in here on a Friday night due to some pretty crappy weather in Central PA…The winter’s been cruel with cold temps and lots of snow and ice (with more on the way). But hey, it give us time to catch up on a few things. Hopefully we’ll get to updating the neglected DareDevil and comics crossover pages soon. Oh, and by the way, the Jay & Silent Bob figs have been showing up in many retail outlets around the country, so keep your eyes peeled! You can also always order directly from the Stash, where the Silent Bob comes signed by the Bob himself! Alright, on with some more big news…

  • If you ask us, Kevin Shuklian of Visalia , CA is a helluva good movie critic. He asked, on the Marvel Boards, to Stan Lee:
“Did you ever receive any acting awards for your appearance in ‘Mallrats’?”

Stan Says: ‘Fraid not Kevin. They don’t have a category for the hammiest performance of the year. But hey I wasn’t totally unrecognized , I did get a few poison pen letters.

  • George Carlin was on The Late Late Show with Tom Snyder last night. Though he didn’t mention anything about Dogma he did say that the only thing out there he knows that shocks people is religion and prayer. He said everyone has been desentized to everything but church. Sounds like Dogma was on the brain, anyway! Watch for George’s new special on HBO, too! He’s still one of the best comedians in the business today, with fresh, smart, funny new material coming out year after year.

Anyway, here’s some details from a scooper on the showing. We’ve also got info on a Georgia Clerks screening and Chasing Amy’s Starz air dates. We’ve added all this stuff to the countdowns, as well. The Bowl is a popular outdoor amphitheatre in one of inner Melbourne’s parks, with 2000 seats under cover and capacity for up to 13,000 if people sit on the hill. Apparently they have one of the world’s largest outdoor screens (19m X 10m) set up for a season of old and new classics. Sounds pretty cool. More details are available at www.cinemaatthebowl.com.au.
  • There will be a “Clerks” screening at the Georgia Theater in Athens, GA on Tuesday, January 12th, so all the down south-Askewers can see it on the BIG SCREEN. It plays at both 7 and 10 PM.
