- Ming’s got the Stash Bash Gala site online, and he’s proven two things, without a doubt: (1) He can put together a slick, jam-packed, informative website and, (2) We look like shit in pictures. Put a camera in front of me and I swear my face contorts into some god awful grimace…And while a hockey jersey made us easy enough to spot, it also looks to add about 50 pounds! Oh well…All kidding aside, there’s a TON of stuff over there, with the centerpiece being the massive collection of pics: Many of the guests inside of the Stash (Ming’s got the only shots from inside the store)…It’s a great chance to put faces with the names of a lot of the folks you’ve seen around the board, too. Don’t miss checking out this page.

Commentary…
- Here comes that snow we talked about…UGH. Now they’re calling for 5-10 inches from now into Monday…Needless to say tomorrow may be a good day not to go into work! Oh well…Anyway, we’ve got NewsCam pointing out the window so you can enjoy watching the snow accumulate, at least while there’s visibility out there. As for the news, things have been slowing down again, and it’s a welcome calm after the last 2 weeks…We’ve got a couple stories though, as well as a nifty new poll topic for ya, courtesy of John Doe:

- Get those DareDevil books ready, West Coasters! Kevin, Joe & Jimmy are scheduled to appear at Golden Apple Comics on Thursday, April 15th, from 7-9 PM, to celebrate the success of the great Marvel Knights series. Surf on over HERE for more details.
- Jay and Silent Bob make an appearance in the latest issue of Batman: Gotham Adventures — #12. If anyone’s got a scan, please send it!
- Has Bob Schreck, Oni’s founder, left the company? Here’s the story:
Bob Schreck has been offered Archie Goodwin’s vacant position at DC Comics and has left Oni Comics, the company he set up, to take it.
Schreck was allegedly offered an editorial job by DC when he left Dark Horse, but Schreck’s recent track record at Oni have convinced DC that a higher position would suit his talents more. A prominent DC employee wouldn’t confirm or deny this story, but said simply “Rich, no one can replace Archie Goodwin”. Indeed. Another industry source states that DC are looking for a Schreck-like figure. And a phone call to Oni Press confirmed that Schreck has been offered the position but “that’s it right now.”
Anyway the rumour is that Schreck now seems convinced that DC is the place to go. And surely DC employees aren’t allowed to own half of another comic book company? Look for some strange things happening at Oni shortly.
Schreck, Heidi McDonald and Matt Idelson, all in one week. Is this another part of DC’s attempt to own the universe? And if the Marvel thing doesn’t work out, could they find room for Jim Shooter? [RICH’S RAMBLINGS]

NewsCam Debuts…
- Alright, it was only a matter of time before we couldn’t resist trying this out anymore…So click here to check out our very own NewsCam. Yep, that’s right, I got a great deal on a camera that I couldn’t pass up and, dammit, I wanna use the thing for something…So now, NewsCam will take a live shot from the room here every 5 minutes and automatically post the sucker up at the site. I wouldn’t expect to see much, except one of us in front of the PC working on the page or whatever, but it’s at least a simple way to see if we’re around or not. Oh, and I can already see that my nose looks even bigger on camera. Lovely. Anyway, check it out and let us know what you think…The NewsCam will run at random times, and probably point at random things in the room here. No digital camera yet, unless we get a generous benefactor that wants to make a donation…They’re just too damned expensive! This’ll just hafta do for now. Enjoy the silly cam, folks.

- A bit late with the update, we realize, but the Harrisburg bar scene beckoned last night, so….Anyway, as promised, we’re starting to debut some of the new features of the site — Today it’s the NewsCam. See below for details. Oh, and on a different note, Ming’s working on View Askew’s stash gala wrap page, which should contain a much fuller variety of photos since he took a ton of shots from inside the Stash as well, where cameras from everyone else were forbidden. We’ll let you know when it’s up and how to get there. Plus, we’ve got just a few news tidbits today, but nothing to really write home about. Jay’s been hitting the View Askew board a TON lately (he’s finally got hooked on the web like the rest of us), so if you surf over there you may be able to ask the guy a question or two. Oh, and on a TOTALLY different topic, has everyone been reading up on the Alien series coming to DVD in June? WOW! Man, is it a GREAT time to own a DVD player. Alright, here we go:
Phantom Menace Trailer 2 Debuts…
- Alright, so unless you’ve been living under a rock this isn’t news to you, and we realize it’s not Askew, but this is IMPORTANT, dammit!!! The second trailer for Star Wars: The Phantom Menace hit the web and television networks everywhere today, and frankly, that’s where we’ve been. Watching the damn thing over, and over, and over again. This thing is absolutely AMAZING. By the way, all the pics below expand if you wanna see them, including that great new one-sheet (and oh yes, 2 of them are on the way to the house as we speak). The flick’s release has been pushed up to Wednesday, May 19th, which now doesn’t interfere with our beach vacation over Memorial Day…Even better news! Now we just gotta make friends with a theater owner or something to get tickets or an in on an advanced employee screening of the sucker…

![]() ![]() ![]() Sneak Preview |
- A few RealAudio clips for you of Affleck today…First of all, here’s an RA file containing Kevin’s famous call-in during the Dennis Miller Live show last Sunday. Also, we politely remind you to check out next week’s FANatic (airing on MTV next Wednesday at 10:30pm ET, with Sandra Bullock as well). We’ve got a teaser for that here as well. Ifyou need RealPlayer, click the link and get a copy. It’s pretty much essential software as you surf the web these days, anyway.
UCF APPEARANCE TONIGHT CANCELLED!
- Unfortunately, we must yet again be the bearers of bad news. View Askew and the UCF folks are confirming that Kevin’s appearance there tonight has been POSTPONED to a later, yet unknown date. Word is that his back injury is really bothering him. We hope the dude’s feeling better and back to his old self soon, but in the meantime, we hope those of you planning to attend tonight can understand. These things happen. Hopefully we got this news to you in time to save some unnecessary trips. We’ll have news on the reschedule date as soon as it’s announced.
Commentary…
- Hey folks, we’re finally back to finish the update…See below for our excuses. And dammit, I just heard there’s more SNOW in the forecast for Sunday AND Monday! Can winter END already?!??! Dammit, can’t someone in a warmer climate give me a web job and get me the hell OUT of Central PA…please!?!? 🙂
Happy Birthday, Vincent!
- Finally today, we’d like to wish a very happy 26th birthday to Vincent Pereira! Congrats, Vincent…We’re looking forward to another year of following your blossoming film career, as well as reading all your helpful posts over on the Web Board.
