• Anyone who’s been to a comic convention knows that there’s usually a room somewhere showing all of the coolest flicks that a fanboy or fangirl could dream of up on the big screen. Well, at this year’s San Diego con, where Kevin is a guest, it’s no exception: All 4 of Kevin’s films will be shown on the big screen! Thursday night, Clerks and Dogma will air at 7:20 PM, with Mallrats & Amy showing on Friday night. We assume it’ll be free for anyone with tickets to the con, and who knows, maybe even the man himself will show up to check things out!

• Kevin is featured on the IMDB’s Director’s Gallery this week. There’s a picture of him during the “Amy” days and a little blurb about his career.
• The “Daily Stumper” on iwin.com today asks, “How many episodes of Clerks actually aired?”. As of noon, 52% of the people who took the poll knew the answer. Pretty impressive.
• IGN Filmforce is running a week-long in-depth interview with Stan Lee in several parts, one of which (Wednesday, we believe) contains a little bit on Stan’s thoughts regarding working with Kevin on Mallrats.
• Dogma was mentioned today on Dan Patrick’s ESPN radio by cohost Rob Dibble, who watched the flick on Pay Per View recently. They briefly talked about who all was in the film, and mentioned the Catholic controversy. Dibble wrapped up the discussion by saying the film was “excellent, but out there”.

• Oh boy, it’s Monday. Days like today make you long for a beach somewhere. Gotta win that lottery soon. Anyway, we’re back with a couple of small tidbits but again, things are going to be decidedly quiet around here until Kevin can reveal some more news about the next flick (and hopefully some information on when the fans will get a chance to see the remaining four episodes).

Went to Kev’s place on Sunday for the Harley Quinn birthday shindig. The guy throws a great party, and cooks some mean steak and chicken, too, so it’s nice to see if the directing thing gets old he can always become a professional grill man. Anyway, it was a great time, and we had a blast chatting with the likes of O’Halloran, Vincent, Ming, Mosier, Malcolm, and Kevin, though the guy had his hands full with his cooking and the guests. It was a fun way to spend a sunny Sunday, and the guy’s got a way cool place.

So let’s see, what else is new? Not too much. Couple of small newsbites and that’ll be it for today. Let’s take a look!

• Kevin appears on the latest FILM FEST DVD in the “Featured Shorts” menu. It’s the famous bit with him reading his “letter” from Robert Redford to the audience at Sundance. Worth seeing, for sure. Want one? Their site’s got info how to get a subscription.
• With Kevin’s next big comic stint being for Green Arrow, everyone’s waiting with baited breath to see what the guy’s gonna come up with. The Captain Comics site ran an nice article on what’s expected, compiling quotes from Kevin dropping hints as well as a mention that the 12-part series has an outline that’s been completed. DC’s even got Issue One’s script already! Cool stuff. We’re looking forward to another great comic arc.
• Scott, the webmaster of ICQ Askew, is looking for someone to take over the site. Maybe ya wanna do it? Drop Scott a line if you’re interested.

• Well, he promised to start generating some news, and he’s doing just that. Kevin’s been dropping all sorts of hints on the next View Askew production. The following are just a few words from some recent posts from Kevin on the subject of the new, final Askewniverse film as well as some other projects in the works:

Kevin also printed the first initials of the last name of each cast member he’d need to participate in the flick for it to work, as he’s written it currently (we’ve filled in who we THINK the folks are, our best guesses):

Kevin says these folks are all absolutely NEEDED to make the film as currently scripted.

Our thoughts on this. While the cast list above may not be quite right, it’s close. And we assume this means that we’re going to tie up all those loose/unseen ends from the other films. We’ll finally get to meet all the cousins and see all the incidents that we only heard about in other films. Julie Dwyer in the flesh? Maybe. Stranger things have happened. We think Kevin’s been doing neat little things like this with the Jay & Silent Bob comics, and it’ll be a great nod to see how everything comes together. Of course, Jay & Bob themselves have to fit in there, AND the script STILL has to allow for an uninitiated audience member to have a good time. But it seems like Kevin’s quite excited about what he’s got penned, and we’re certainly looking forward to hearing more about it. It’s going to be a fan-pleaser at the very least, that’s for sure. We’ll of course have the best coverage for you right here.

• A new Jason Lee fan page has opened up. It’s got a bio, games, a chat, a WWWBoard, plot summerys of all Lee’s films and his role’s in them, Links, a Yahoo! Club, a Mailing List, news and tons of other stuff.
• Unless something major happens, there probably won’t be another update here for a day or two. We’re heading into Red Bank this Sunday for the day, so the next update will likely not show until Monday. Catch ya then…

I just received word that Jason Mewes’ appearance scheduled for Hotbox tonight has been cancelled, due to a “last minute company incident”. That’s all we know at this point. We are told that a reschedule will happen but have no further information at this time. Sorry for any inconvenience.

• Just a quick story here gathered from the postings over at the View Askew WWWBoard. Seems that the proposed Vulgarthon 2000 date will be Monday, October 30th, 2000. This has not yet been officially announced, so please bear that in mind. The all-day film festival will likely premiere the View Askew Productions “Big Helium Dog” & “Vulgar”, along with encore showings of “Mallrats”, “A Better Place”, and the Cannes print of “Dogma”. Keep watching our site for an announcement on how and when to get tickets (though they’re lot likely to go on sale until August or September). Stay tuned.

• The incomprable Jason Mewes is scheduled for an appearance on the Internet TV show “Hotbox”, part of the Pseudotainment.com network. It’s a fully interactive show so chatters can ask questions or comment, and Jason will answer them OUT LOUD on the show.
