Weekend Commentary

October 6th @ 6:37 pm | No Comments » | Scooped by Brad & Chris

  • Well folks, made it through another one…Are the work weeks getting longer and longer or what? Anyway, enjoy your weekend, keep it safe as always. Get out there and enjoy what’s left of the nice summer weather, unless you’re in Michigan or somewhere where it’s probably already snowing.

The anticipation levels are high for Vulgarthon this year, with the event just a bit over 3 weeks away. Don’t expect any major guest announcements for the event as Kevin usually likes to surprise folks, and often has some folks on a last-minute basis and doesn’t wanna disappoint if folks don’t show up. It was great seeing Jason Lee at the last Vulgarthon, and it would be great to see the guy again, but judging by his schedule it’s gonna be a tough call. Great guests like Mewes and O’Halloran are sure to be in attendance, though, and there’s gonna be some great flicks and fans there. We’ve got no doubt that this event will be worth every penny.

We’ve got a couple cool stories today for ya, one from Vincent on a surprise item that sounds like a winner (you’ll have your first chance to purchase it at Vulgarthon) and FINALLY some information on how to phone in ticket orders for the Bloomsburg show. We’re still hedging on attending, but are leaning towards the no right now considering our busy schedules lately and the fact that we’ll hear plenty of Q&A in Red Bank in a couple weeks. Anyway, without further delay, here’s today’s News Askew:

  • Vincent got in touch with us with this way cool news about the official CD soundtrack for “A Better Place”. We know that Vincent carefully puts hundreds of hours of his time into anything he does, so we’re sure this soundtrack is not something to miss. Best of all, he plans to have a heap of them ready for purchase at Vulgarthon later this month. Here’s Vin with the details:
We mastered the A BETTER PLACE soundtrack CD yesterday, and it should bepressed and ready for sale by the Vulgarthon (courtesy of Gig Records,www.gigrecords.com). If you don’t mind me saying, this is going to bethe best View Askew soundtrack album any of you have seen – westructured it like a concept album, with tracks bleeding into eachother, and dialogue clips intersperced in between some of the songs, andwe close it with an intrumental piece that we laid dialogue from thefilm under. I’m really happy with how it all turned out.

With his permission, we’ll try and get some clips from that CD online for you to check out soon as well. Stay tuned!
