New Q&A From Kevin At Wizard Online!

October 19th @ 3:42 pm | No Comments » | Scooped by Kevin Smith

  • WizardWorld has posted a small Q&A session with Kev where they tackle some big issues, mostly about Green Arrow, but also manage to squeeze some View Askew 5 tidbits in there. The strange bit is the intro to the story, where they claim Kev will be in “Tinseltown” from November through February filming VA5. Hmmm. Anyway, here’s a taste of the article:
How’d casting go?

Smith: It went well. We haven’t locked anyone yet, except for the people we all know are coming back. Jason Lee and Ben Affleck and Jason Mewes and myself will of course all be there. It looks like Matty Damon and Chris Rock are also coming back. But there are other roles to fill in, people we haven’t seen in the flick yet.

So when are you gonna announce a title on this thing?

Smith: Probably over the course of the next two months. I think once we lock the rest of the cast, we’ll say what it is. Trust me — we’re trying to make it as painless as possible. Unlike a dentist appointment.

  • Fandom has reported that Kevin’s Green Arrow will indeed debut this February on a comic shelf near you. See the news story above for Kevin’s confirmation of this fact, as well. The book is running well ahead of schedule.

  • A new article featuring Jason Lee appears in the latest Flaunt Magazine. We don’t have a transcript, but a scooper has been kind enough to send us the JPGs of each page right here for your clicking and reading pleasure.
  • Last, but not at all least, Jeff Wells gives Kevin’s Psycomic column a nice mention in his latest column:
Adventures of Kevin

Director-writer Kevin Smith (Dogma, Chasing Amy) has a new column over at a Web site called psycomic.com, which is primarily a comics Web site. Smith, however, is penning a weekly column called ‘Developing the Monkey’ on the making of his next film, the working title of which is VA 5 (short for View Askew 5).

The first column went up last week. The upcoming columns, I’m told, are going to be “dishy as hell” with revelations about who turned Smith and his producers down for meetings, who’s getting cast beyond the usual Smith regulars, and other inside snipings. Sounds good to me. Worth checking out.

This was exactly what we were hoping for as well. Remember, a new edition appears at Psycomic TOMORROW – We’ll have the direct link and a capsule review right here at News Askew for ya. See you then!
