Commentary & Stuff…

April 12th @ 11:32 am | No Comments » | Scooped by Brad & Chris

  • Just a few things to talk about today, as news has been moderately slow and allowed some stuff to get caught up on. Today, we’ve got some news on A Better Place’s package deal at express.com, so if you ordered, read up. By the way, we’re working on putting together a more extensive review of the soundtrack CD for that movie, watch for it. Another thing to address today are those Cool Quiz online quizzes: Ever since we posted a link to that site, it seems TONS of folks are now creating their own quizzes. We are getting way too many quiz links to post now, so won’t be posting them any longer. If you wanna surf over to their site, more View Askew quizzes should be easy to find. Finally, if you are experiencing any forums problems, let me know. Development of the latest YaBB beta has slowed up, and there still seems to be some bugs to squash. If you’re having issues with your user or something else bugging you, we’ll try and get it worked out. Thanks, and now on with the show:

A Better Place Pre-Orders At Express.Com…

April 12th @ 11:30 am | No Comments » | Scooped by Stephen Gilman

  • There have been some strange developments with the vendor offering the special deal on the A Better Place DVD, express.com. First of all, you may recall that the vendor has had a deal going since last year that the first 1,000 discs ordered will come autographed by Vincent and Kevin, along with a limited edition cell from the film. The price, $20.99, couldn’t be beat. Now, recently, express.com has been rumored to be experiencing some financial difficulties, and the latest happening doesn’t bode well: They’ve cancelled all orders that we made prior to the end of last month. So, if you pre-ordered the disc, your order is no longer in there. Looking at the site, the same deal and price are still listed HERE but we’re unsure if this deal is going to go through or not at this time. If not, Vincent has previously said the discs and cells will likely be sold directly through the Stash instead, though the price has yet to be determined.

Express also lists a release date of May 22nd, but, as we know, no official release date on the disc has been announced at this time. Sit tight and we’ll do our best to get more updates on the status of the DVD. Our opinion is that if you want it, you may as well pre-order to make sure you get the full package. Even if express goes under or doesn’t get the discs in, they won’t charge you. This way, you get your copy reserved if the deal does go through.

Drawing Flies DVD Commentary Recorded…

  • Director Malcolm Ingram stopped by the board to announce that the all-star commentary track to the Drawing Flies DVD has now been recorded…It won’t be long now before another gap in your View Askew DVD collection can be filled on in!Here’s Malc:
Well

Long time no post.

But I got a bit of news for y’all regarding Flies.

Today Jason Lee, Carmen Lee Lewelyn, Renee Humphrey, Jason Mewes, Kevin, Scott, Matt and myself sat down to record the commentary for the DRAWING FLIES dvd.

It was awesome!

What else can I say…The last time I sat with all these people together in a room was 6 years ago. And getting the incredible oppurtunity to have all these awesome (and busy) talents together again was enough to make this big fat lug weep.

Almost.

Anywho, This is one of the final steps leading us to our late summer release.

Just wanted to let y’all know.

Also wanted to thank Jason, Carmen, Renee, Mewes and Mosier for taking the time…….Most of all I want to thank Kevin…..for helping a sucker continue to dream.

Keep on rocking in the free world!

  • Jason Lee sadly missed his chance to nab a Blockbuster Award for his Almost Famous performance on the show last night, losing to Haley Joel in Pay It Forward. What a crime…It’s a damn shame more folks didn’t catch Almost Famous.
  • Joblo.com has posted some pics from Chris Rock’s new film, Black Sheep. Check ‘em out HERE.
  • Marilyn Ghigliotti is overseeing an advice column at Kala Productions. Every few weeks Marilyn will take time and answer some of the questions posed to her, offering her takes on the little obstacles of the world, based upon her own life experience.
  • Get ready for more Dogma comparisons…Lions Gate has picked up another Miramax flick that the studio didn’t want to release: “O”, the modern day retelling of Othello, directed by Tim Blake Nelson, starring Julia Stiles, Josh Hartnett and Mekhi Phifer. Watch for more news on this one in the press.
