New J&SBSB Internet Trailer DELAYED UNTIL TUESDAY!

June 18th @ 10:34 pm | No Comments » | Scooped by Ming Chen

  • Sorry folks, word’s come down from the top that the trailer is undergoing some last minute tweaks and conversions, thus, it will be DELAYED until tomorrow at some point. No go-live time is currently planned, it could show up earlier in the day, or later at night. We CAN tell you that the new piece will run about 85 seconds in length, be 16 megs in size for the best quality copy, and is being encoded at 24 frames per second. You’ll want to nab yourself the latest version of Quicktime to get geared up for it. We apologize for those of you who waited up for this, we got the news up as soon as we could. Don’t shoot the messenger! We’ll keep ya posted on further updates, and hopefully have an official go-live time on the new trailer for ya ASAP tomorrow. Look below, though, as we’ve got another new trailer to tide ya over until then…

“A Better Place” Trailer Online!

June 18th @ 10:33 pm | No Comments » | Scooped by Vincent Pereira

  • Well, here’s a pleasant surprise! Vincent’s got a brand new trailer cut for “A Better Place” online in two QuickTime versions, a lower and higher resolution. We of course recommend the higher resolution copy if you’ve got the bandwidth. The trailer runs about 1 minute and 44 seconds, and features some memorable dialogue and striking scenes from the film. It’s cut together quite well and will have you eagerly anticipating the DVD release next month. You can download copies over at the Film 411 site or local mirrored copies right HERE at News Askew. Enjoy!

Will Ferrell J&SBSB Interview & Pics At AICN…

June 18th @ 4:04 pm | No Comments » | Scooped by Stephen Humphrey

  • You can catch another in Mysterio’s series of Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back cast interviews at AICN. In this one, Will speaks about working with Kevin, his career, Saturday Night Live, and lots more craziness. Here’s a taste:
“Kevin seems to allow you the opportunity to improv, which he’s been know not to do.”

Oh really? I didn’t know that.

Do you discuss certain lines and bits you’d like to try beforehand, or do you just surprise him when the cameras roll?”

Um… yes and no. Yeah, we’ve had both kinds of situations. Usually if I have an idea I’ll be like, “hey, what if we changed it up this way?” And he’s be like, “Oh, ok. Let’s try that.” And then sometimes I’ll just do it on my own and to be frank, he’s not very happy with it. He’ll banish me for an hour and a half. He’ll put me in a time out. I’ll have to sit in this special solitary confinement box on the set…

“Oh yeah! I’ve seen that box!”

Yeah, yeah… It’s a BIG box. You don’t want to be there at all. It’s very hot in there. They pump in the heat. So I try to pick and choose my spots.

“Would it be fair to say that you and Kevin share the same sense of humor?”

Absolutely. We pretty much see eye to eye in this character. Also, he told me he wrote it with me in mind in terms of my delivery and that sort of thing. It’s material that’s right up my alley, so yeah, we totally share the same sense of humor.

You can find plenty of pics (of Will performing a wire stunt) and a TON of Q&A in the full piece over at AICN.

  • Two more reviews of the Dogma Special Edition DVD are online…One linked at Dark Horizons and another at DVD Authority. Both reviews give the disc some very positive marks. One more week until this thing can finally get in the hands of all the fans. Sit tight, folks!
  • One for the ladies: In the July issue of Cosmo, Seann William Scott is “Hunk of the Month.” There is a one-page interview and a little mention of the fact that he will be in JASBSB.
  • Due to substantial changes in content, orders for the September 2001 issue of High Times have been cancelled. The View Asked related contents that were solicited to appear in that issue – a Kevin Smith interview & a three-page primer to his Jay & Silent Bob/Bluntman & Chronic comics, are scheduled to now appear in their October 2001 issue.
  • Finally today, in case ya didn’t notice, it looks like the Stroke 9 single is listing the full Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back soundtrack as having an August 14th release date, 10 days before the flick opens nationwide. We’ll keep ya posted on the artists and tracks involved as word comes in. It’d be cool if they slip some dialogue from the film in there as well, as done on the Clerks and Mallrats discs from way back. Catch ya later, folks, hopefully tonight with a new internet exclusive trailer!

Commentary & Stuff…

  • Hey folks, welcome to another week. There’s a lot a-brewin’ this morning, though the work day has started, so a full update will hafta wait until later. Then, we’ll have news for ya on the new Will Ferrell interview over at AICN, yet another Dogma SE DVD review, and more. Also, word has it that the website that claimed that the DVD will be RCE has been unreliable in the past, so we are STILL not sure about the new DVD having RCE protection on it. Sorry for all the confusion there.

A lot of you are also wondering about the new trailer, no doubt. Well, we haven’t heard otherwise since Kevin’s announcement, so we assume the new trailer will still debut on the web sometime TONIGHT. Hopefully we’ll get a confirmation on this for you later today.

And finally, it’s my (Brad) birthday today, I’m now 28, creeping ever closer to 30…Sheesh. They’re coming faster and faster these days. If anyone’s recently won the lottery or something, you can send me one of these as a present. Wow. Now THAT’S a remote.

Just one story so far for today with the last of the Jay & Bob set pics, but we’ll be back with more later:

Last 2 Set Pics From J&SBSB

June 18th @ 7:27 am | No Comments » | Scooped by Brad & Chris

Well folks, here’s the last two pics we’ve got from the on-set Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back collection. It’s been a good run, and we thank Kevin Smith, Scott Mosier, and Jamie Anderson for providing us with so many exclusive, revealing scans to debut here. Hope you’ve enjoyed them all as much as we’ve enjoyed posting them up. Our last two shots are a nice exterior and a final shot of Jay, appropriately waving farewell (or is that hello?). You can see the entire archive over at our ever-increasing Scooping The Monkey site, the biggest place on the web to find out anything and everything about the new flick. Until then, enjoy these last 2, and we’ll see you back here with more exclusives soon. Who knows, maybe the gang will dig up a few more pics for us if anything else turns up!
