- Finally, an explanation! The missing “Mystery Machine†frames from many prints of Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back turned out to be an error in prints sent out. Check this out:
(Lynnwood, WA) — Some patrons of the Grand Cinema in Lynnwood, Washington, are asking the question, “Scooby Doo, where are you?†You may have seen the preview for “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back†where Jay and Silent Bob take a ride in the Mystery Machine from the Scooby Doo cartoons. Problem is, that scene was accidently cut out of one of the prints grand is showing. Grand says they were made aware of the problem, but they are under contract with Miramax Films to play the defective print till a replacement arrives. They are advising patrons of the defect and were recommending a later showing if they want to be sure to get that scene. Grand Cinema has refunded the money of customers that were not told of the problem before paying for the ticket.
A thread on this scene and other possible missing bits in these defective prints is going on at the View Askew WWWBoard right HERE. The Seattle Times also ran a similar article. It seems that the prints are all localized to Grand Cinemas.

- Well, the At The Movies verdict is in: Critics Ebert and Roeper gave what was described as a BIG split desistion over J&SBSB. Ebert loved it, and Ropper completely hated it. They shared different views on scenes like the Good Will Hunting 2 scene, and Roeper thought that the inside jokes were just not funny. So, sadly, no “two thumbs up†for this one.
- Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back is the subject of today’s episode of online comic “The Boondocksâ€. You can check it out right HERE. These kids regularly comment on pop culture, hip hop, politics, and Star Wars, and are considered a hip “Peanutsâ€.
- A humor website named Brunching Shuttlecocks has a little flash movie today entitled “Kevin Smith and His Magic Featherâ€. It’s, well…quite strange. Judge for yourself by surfing HERE. Try clicking the movie posters, too!
- Boston’s Fenway General Cinema on Friday the 7th & Saturday the 8th they’ll be showing a midnight screening of ‘Clerks’ courtesy of WBCN. On Friday night, the station will be in the house giving away a trip to Montreal. Saturday will also feature prize giveaways sans radio station and big trip. The cost is only 6 bucks, the movie plays at midnight both nights on the SCREEN MONSTER – the biggest screen in new england! Sounds like a good one to catch.
- Jay & Bob’s influence continues to spread across the web. From an online editorial about Apple computers called “Now Steve Jobs Works for Me…†by Rodney O. Lain:
“Even though there are times when Apple can do no wrong in my eyes, there’s an equal number of times in which I seriously wonder if they’re “rocking the ganj,†as Jay and Silent Bob would say. (For you strait-lacers out there: “rocking the ganj†is slang for smoking marijuana… or so I’m told :-)â€
You can read the full editorial, if you’re so inclined, HERE.
- If you’ve been surfing the fictional Jay & Bob website, moviepoopshoot.com, you probably noticed (minor film spoilers ahead) that it now has the post from Randal (from the film) where he says Jay and Silent Bob are “ball-lickersâ€. It also has Jay and Bob’s response, (the one they wrote in the Moobys just before they met Justice – where they describe what they are going to do to the guys at Miramax.
- Annnnnd finally today, a couple of cool addtions to Files Askew“Moonraper†wallpaper, inspired by a scene in J&SBSB, is a true masterpiece by Brodie Fan. A very amusing and colorful addition to any desktop. And also, we’ve got the finalized Skin set for The Sims, by Vince Elsing, featuring Bartleby, Hooper, Dogma Silent Bob, a guy in a View Askew Shirt, Azreal, Jason Lee as Fletch, and a J&SBSB Jay. Buy the game and move them all into your house. Instant fun.
