- Kevin stopped by the WWWBoard quickly just before leaving California with some really big news including : a video release date for J&SBSB, Vulgarthon 2002, and the new flick. Check it out!
Tomorrow, Jen and I start the long, cross-country trek back to the Jers, after being out in L.A. for a month and change shy of a year.
What a long, strange, and productive year it’s been.
Short of that, I’ve got no real news to share.
Well, except the following tid-bits…
‘Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back’ will be released on DVD and VHS on February 12th (yes – just in time for Valentine’s Day).
Logistically speaking, I’m not sure who’s going to be on the commentary track just yet. It may wind up being just me and Mewes, fittingly enough (and please – no string of “NO WAY, KEV! GET EVERYBODY BACK FOR THE COMMENTARY TRACK OR IT’LL SUCK!!!†posts; trust me – it’ll be worth listening to if it’s just me and the boy). We’re also working on getting the old, circa ‘98 Mtv shorts for disc, so keep your fingers crossed.
On the ‘Vulgarthon’ front: it’s looking like January. The only flicks I know for sure that’ll be in the line-up are Bryan Johnson’s ‘Vulgar’ (the theatrical release of which is now February) and ‘Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back’ (the theatrical release of which is… well, now; fuck, what’re you reading this shit for? Go see the flick again).
Please – no strings of “KEV! YOU GOTTA INCLUDE ******* IN THE LINEUP!!!†or “KEV! YOU GOTTA GET ******** TO SHOW UP THIS YEAR!!!†posts. We’ll be working on the official selection of flicks all next month; and, as most of you already know, we NEVER announce anyone being in attendance other than me – as most folks are usually working on other flicks whenever we throw one of these things, and I, traditionally, am not.
Should be fun, though, regardless. These things always are. Maybe there’ll be a cut of the Columbia TriStar DVD done by that point, and we’ll debut it there. Then we can have a Q&A after you’ve just watched me give a bunch of Q&A’s on tape. And to make it even more weird, it’ll all be in synch with the Floyd’s ‘Dark Side of the Moon’.
Right now, it’s looking like a March start for rehearsals on the new flick, and an April and May shoot, if everything goes as planned.
And thus ends the bare-bones overview on View Askew 2002.
I’ll check in from the road.
