• Jason Lee‘s new flick “Big Trouble” has been postponed indefinetly due to a bomb-related poltline. On a side note, Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s new movie “Collateral Damage” has been delayed also.
• We’ve been informed that Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back has been given an 18 certificate in the UK, which means that NO-ONE under 18 can see it, even if accompanied by an adult. You can read about it HERE.
• Another positive review for the “A Better Place” DVD has popped up on Horror DVD’s.com. Check it out HERE.

• We just received this e-mail from Clerks The Cartoon writer/producer David Mandel and he wanted us to share it with you all:

BACKTALK : What’s it like being immortalized in plastic? KEVIN SMITH : It’s pretty hot. It’s kinda mind-bending too, ’cause look at me – I’m the least active person on the planet. Having an action figure is kinda humorous. BACKTALK : Did you have a favorite toy growing up? KEVIN SMITH : I was a big Star Wars guy. I had every figure they made. I had the AT-AT, Millennium Falcon, X-Wing, Star Destroyer, Sand Crawler – all the stuff. I was hard-core. BACKTALK : Silent Bob and Malibu Barbie in the Barbie Dream House: What happens? KEVIN SMITH : Ahhh…probably nothing. I’m married in real life, and even that would feel like cheating to me. Sorry. BACKTALK : Any downside to having an action figure made of you? KEVIN SMITH : Somebody could take your figure and create a heinous little porno with it and post it online. It hasn’t happened yet, but I guess it could. BACKTALK : Now that we’ve published this, it probably will. KEVIN SMITH : Yeah. Sh**. I guess I’d look at it with curiosity and interest. But also mild disgust.

• Hey, Chris here. I just wanted to check in with you all to let you know we’re ok here. Both Brad and I live near Harrisburg, PA. That’s about 3 hours from Somerset and Pittsburgh. And actually Brad’s on his honeymoon right now down in Orlando, so he’s far from this tragedy. I’m touched that people were worried for us and wanted to thank you all. Now get out to your local blood bank and make a donation! This is truly a sad day, and we should try to keep the friends and families of everyone involved in our thoughts.

• During the recent Phantom Meance DVD press gathering held last weekend, George Lucas and his producer Rick McCallum had some nice things to say about J&SBSB. Check out what they had to say here, courtesy of DVD File.com:

Question: What kind of movie experience does watching DVD represent to you? Do you enjoy renting a DVD rather than going to a movie theatre? George Lucas: I generally go to the movie theatres. I mean, I go to the movie theatres to see what’s happening now and then I watch DVDs for older movies that are no longer in the theatres. So I don’t really choose one or the other. If I want to see Dr. Strangelove, I can’t go to the movie theatre. But if I want to see something more contemporary, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (laughs), I have to go to a movie theatre.

Question: You mentioned that making the DVD was like making a movie, another movie. Can you talk about how much it cost to put the DVD together? What kind of investment you guys have in it? Rick McCallum: It cost (laughter), that’s something, you know… does it matter? Question: I think it’s interesting. Rick McCallum: Let’s put it this way, it cost a lot, it took a lot of effort, a lot of time. Question: How many Kevin Smith movies could you make? (laughter) Rick McCallum: Well, it depends. Based on his last one? (laughs) It cost a lot.

• There’s quite a few early reviews of the new Cameron Crowe flick “Vanilla Sky” featuring Tom Cruise and our boy Jason Lee over at AICN today. Most seem quite positive and a few may contain spoilers. So if you’ve never seen the original “Abre los ojos”, or want to avoid any knowledge, read them at your own risk!
• Every month, Spin Magazine assigns different symbols to represent different rankings for their cd review section. This month Silent Bob is used for #7. Some other notable characters are Flavor Flav at #9 and Sancho Panza at #10.
• Afroman’s making the rounds on Australia radio. ‘Because I Got High’ has been playing on the alternative youth station Triple J. It first started being played last Wednesday night, and has been a daily fixture ever since. You can even vote for it on their weekly Net 50 Show. Also, the song is only ever so slightly edited.
• DVD Easter Eggs has posted a page for the now infamous “A Better Place” DVD.
• There’s a 2 page interview in the latest issue of the UK mens magazine Arena (with covergirl Eva Herzigova) He talks homophobia, Magnolia, Reese Witherspoon, his favorite expletive and the gets in a word or too about J&SBSB.

• Jason Mewes made it into the current issue of US Weekly under their “Fashion Police” section where they pick their worst dressed and critique what they are wearing. Check it out above.
• Good news for Australian fans. After the less than stellar “Chasing Amy” DVD release a while back, it looks like “Clerks” will get the 5-star treatment. Features include: Cast/Crew Bios, Deleted Scenes, Scene Selection, and the Theatrical Trailer. The disc will sell for about $35, and there’s nothing about whether it’ll be widescreen or pan and scan. You can click HERE for more info. Incidentally, this just leaves Mallrats for release in Australia now…
