  • Got a couple e-mails on a Clerks mention on last night’s “Dawson’s Creek”, so someone somewhere must actually still be watching that show:
Just thought I’d mention, quick Clerks mention on Dawson’s Creek…Dawson and his latest fling, a film critic, were discussing movies. The woman was arguing that it takes time for a director to find his voice, giving the example of Traffic and saying that Sex, Lies and Videotape was just a throwback to movies where all people did is talk… anyways, she challenges him to come up with a truly orginal film by a first time director, and he rambles off a list which inclues Clerks, among such others as Reservoir Dogs, Body Heat, Say Anything and the Maltese Falcon. Also, Dawson challenges his girl to go back to filmmaking instead of being a critic, and she asks if she should just quit her job and finance a film on credit cards. He replies “You wouldn’t be the first.”
  • Jersey Girl’s got a page on the IMDB now — Not much there yet, but it’ll certainly be updated more in the coming months. We’ve gotta get that News Askew link added there.
  • Kevin’s quoted in another Stan Lee article from the AP newswire. Lee’s in the spotlight this week, with Spiderman (which he created) hitting the big screen tomorrow:
“Stan became an ambassador of comics to the mainstream,” said “Clerks” director Kevin Smith, a comics fan and friend of Lee’s who conducted the interviews on the DVD “Mutants, Monsters and Marvels.” “He’s the face behind comics to people who don’t read or identify with them. He took superheroes public.”
  • Tracy Morgan (J&SBSB) will star in his own one-hour special for Comedy Central and host a new standup series for the cable channel.
