- Here ya go, folks, photos of the cover and article inside the latest Toyfare magazine, which features a look at the upcoming Clerks cartoon figures. The first wave will include Dante, Randal, Jay and Silent Bob for $9.37 each They’re due to arrive in February, 2003. Believe it or not, Up to 75 figures from the Askewniverse are being considered for the line! All figures will be done in the style of the Clerks cartoon, even characters that never appeared there. It’s a fantastic idea. Think of it, the likes of Brodie, Loki, Missy, Sissy, Chrissy, and tons more immortalized forever in plastic! Now, the figures are jokingly referred to as “Inaction” figures because they don’t have any movable parts.
The next batch of figures is scheduled to be Brodie, Renee, Silent Bob and Jay — all from Mallrats. And yes, each one will be $9.37 as well. Every six months, they hope to debut a new group of four. And yes, Steve-Dave and Walt The Fanboy are being considered for a future set. Stay tuned for more — very exciting stuff!
