  • There’s a couple of rare View Askew items up at eBay that we thought may interest some: An actual used J&SBSB shooting script and one of those hard to find Mallrats books.
  • We’re hearing that a lot of theaters are holding MIDNIGHT showings of Daredevil this Thursday night. So, if ya wanna see the flick early, be sure to call your local multiplex and ask! We can confirm that the Cocoaplex in nearby Hershey, PA is going to be selling passes this week. The film is getting some great advance buzz, so be sure to catch it theatrically.
  • Apparently, the Mallrats showing at the Byrd Theatre in Richmond, VA last night went swimmingly. Here’s a report:
The building was pretty much packed with people, all of whom seemed to be clamoring for the start. It’s really a great experience when you’re watching one of your favorite movies with like two hundred fans who cheer to the names during the opening credits (I personally boo’ed at Jeremy London and got punched by my girlfriend). The picture itself was kind of square, like it was off a VCR projector. The sound was actually a little fast, so everyone in the cast sounded a few years younger (and Shannen Doherty’s back-and-forth with Jason Lee in the elevator was even less understandable than before).

Regardless, the flick was enjoyed by all. Normally at these midnight showings we’ve got the most obnoxious assholes yelling during key moments of the movies, but with Mallrats it just wasn’t the case (which was actually kind of surprising). Everyone wanted to hear the next joke, even though probably the majority of the audience knew what was coming up, anyway.

Still, it was a great viewing and I was thrilled to see it on the big screen being that I missed it the first time (I remember ads for it in my comics and thinking “…I don’t wanna see that”). This is the third View Askew flick I’ve managed to see on the big screen (now including Dogma and Jay and Bob Strike Back). Now if they’d only show Chasing Amy…

  • And finally today, the IMDB takes their Quote of the Day from J&SBSB:
HOLDEN

A Jay and Silent Bob movie? Feature length? Who’d pay to see that?
