- Home Shopping Network is selling a “Mighty Marquee Signed Comic Set #2″, consisting of 10 signed comic books. The site doesn’t say this, but apparently a viewer caught the set for sale live on the HSN, and it was mention that one of these books features Kevin’s signature on the same page as Stan Lee. It’s a little pricey, but a very cool collectible. We imagine you could call them and get more info on the set if you need to confirm this before purchasing. If anyone can confirm or deny this, let us know.
- A review from a test screening of “Dreamcatcher” is up at AICN. The reviewer gives some nice props to Jason Lee’s performance in the flick. Sounds like one worth paying to see, especially since that cool new animated Matrix short will play before the film.
- Affleck appeared on ESPN this morning and last night, answering sports-related questions in something they call “On the Hot Seat.”It’s a short segment where they ask him something quick and he gives short answers. Some were word association like “Q:Steinbrenner A: Idiot”, “Q:Carlton Fisk A:My hero” and others were questions like “Q: Whose life is more in a fish bowl – Jennifer Lopez or Tiger Woods? A: Jennifer.” At the end he even taunted them saying something like “Is that it? Is that all you got?”.
- UK Askew is holding a fairly big Merchandise competition to celebrate their 1st year online. The contest is open to UK visitors only.
- Dogma is #4 on Madblast’s list of top 10 Matt Damon Films:
4. Dogma (1999) Directed by Kevin Smith This is a highly enjoyable film, and extremely underrated and under appreciated because of its controversial and irreverent content. Viewers were not prepared to see angels acting like the devils they were. Damon and his buddy Ben Affleck pair up to make this movie special. Great chemistry and equally good dialogue mark this film, by “Silent Bob” Kevin Smith, a perfect choice for a Friday night rental.
- A disc review of the Region 4 Clerks DVD confirms that this release does indeed have a better transfer, stating “the R4 offers a 16×9 enhanced PAL transfer — that’s already a big advantage for the R4, but then we add in the fact that the R4 is a cleaner transfer, with fewer film artefacts and no aliasing, moire, or shimmer — it’s a clean KO win for the R4″.
- A Clerks reference pops up at fark.com again, this time in photos of Daytona driver Rusty Wallace. See if you can spot it.
- And finally today, some spam that showed in up the NA mailbox today reported that newsaskew.com is now ranked as the 285,266th most visited site on the Internet. In the grand scheme of things, guess that’s not TOO bad!
