  • Yep, “Earl” did it! Here’s what IMDB has to say about last night’s premiere episode:
‘Earl’ Is a Pearl for NBC

The series debut of My Name Is Earl on NBC Tuesday night won its time period with a 9.3 rating and a 14 share, helping the struggling network win the night. The show had been receiving massive critical praise. (The pilot reportedly tested stronger with focus groups than any NBC show had in 15 years.) On Tuesday, the Detroit Free Press described it as “a gen-u-wine, fresh-squeezed screwball pearl.” And Kay McFadden in the Seattle Times commented, “If any show can single-handedly turn around NBC this fall, it’s My Name Is Earl.”

  • In case you missed it, yesterday’s newsbite interview with Kevin did indeed finally have him revealing he was NOT asked to be involved with the Star Wars television show…ever:
“The STAR WARS stuff is horseshit. There was never any truth to that rumor. I think someone even said Lucasfilm had made an official announcement about my involvement at some point. Not true at all. I’d be honored to work on something like that, but it’s honestly never come up.”
  • Be sure to check that Mallrats DVD Easter Eggs story just below again, we’ve made a few additions to it thanks to our astute readership. Thanks all, nice hunting.
  • Here’s a quick report that came in regarding a radio call-in that Kevin did on KRAB 106.1 in Bakersfield, CA yesterday:
…I heard part of it this morning on a “This is what you’ve been missing” kind of spot where they replayed what happened yesterday. The hosts basically introduced Kevin by naming all the movies, and started professing to him what geeks and dorks they were. Kevin then said he was ready to take his knocks for “Jersey Girl”, whereupon they all stated that they thought Jersey Girl was touching and funny and Kevin responded “Thats great, I wish you guys were the audience.”

If anyone perchance taped the phone in, let us know so we can add it to the archives. Later!
