  • If you’re interested, we have a full transcript of one of Kevin’s recent radio appearances in Portland, OR. Click HERE to read a text version of this. Poor Kevin and the morning DJ’s he’s stuck dealing with! These folks at least seemed to know a lot about the flick and stuff, and chat about the new flick, Fletch, and a LOT of comics, which is good.
  • This is a scoop we kept passing over, but it keeps coming up so there must be some interest out there. There’s an article up at Mr. Showbiz regarding all of those legal problems coming up with Linda Fiorentino lately. In it, Kevin’s previous opinions on her come up with this final paragraph: “Kevin Smith, who directed Fiorentino in Dogma, once stated that he will never work with the actress againafter the pair battled bitterly on the set of his religious satire.”.
  • And finally today, Not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES does the Bluntman & Chronic graphic novel get mentioned in this months DIAMOND DIALOGUE, a comic retailer exclusive monthly magazine put out, obviously, by Diamond Comics Distribution featuring articles & features on comic related items. There’s an article mentining how Image’s “Summer of Smith” is wrapping up with the new book, & another that mentions how te release date got moved from the 10th to the 24th. The final piece is written by News Askew reader Insane Ian:
My Personal Best is just about anything that Kevin Smith is working on. Take his work on Green Arrow for example – a comic that I previously had little to no interest in. The current exploits of the Emerald Archer have me anticipating each new issue to find out what happened to Ollie’s memory, let alone why he’s suddenly back after his presumed death a few years ago. Kevin’s writing does tend to be a bit wordy at times, but like his movies, it’s his use of the English language that makes every word flow and sound real, and his storytelling techniques have only gotten better with each comic he’s done. I can hardly wait until August when his Bluntman & Chronic GN (JUN011324D2) comes out, which is going to coincide with his new movie, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. It seems that once again, Kevin Smith has all the bases covered.
