- Looks like the French have gotten on the Dogma controversy bandwagon. Better late than never we suppose. This comes to us from the BBC News website:
The controversial Hollywood movie Dogma has been attacked by the Catholic Church in France.
The film, which also sparked religious protests in the US and the UK, has been described in a church publication as “stupid, superficial and uninteresting†and “not even worthy of discussionâ€.
Father Stanislas Lalanne, spokesman for the Catholic Church in Paris said: “There is a difference between movies that treat religious issues with respect and those that are derogatory and make fun of the church.â€
Last week some 100 people protested in Versailles, denouncing the movie as “blasphemousâ€.
