- Q. Now that you’ve had time to think about your list of the best films of 1997, which runner-up title would you be most likely to upgrade to the top 10?
A. Kevin Smith’s “Chasing Amy.” The writing is inspired, and its combination of comedy and insight is rare among recent films.

- CHANGING – Director Smith switching from mundane to sublime
After looking at life in convenience stores and shopping malls, Kevin Smith will turn his camera toward the heavens for his next film.
Smith will begin work on his fourth movie, “Dogma,” in Pittsburgh this spring. Ben Affleck and Matt Damon will play angels who try to returnto heaven after they are banished. Emma Thompson will play God.
Smith describes himself as a practicing Catholic and said the “Dogma” script contains references to his faith, besides his trademark profanity, complex dialogue, and humor.
Smith’s previous films are “Clerks,” “Mallrats” and the criticallyacclaimed “Chasing Amy.”
Basically, a rehash of the stuff we already know. Except for the one error in the article, that is. 🙂
