  • June’s issue of Swing Magazine featured an article titled, “Guidance From The Stars”, which explained how to get the job that you want. Kevin was asked a question, and here’s the results:
How do you know you’re in a dead-end job— and how do you get out of it?

Since the critical and commercial success of his film debut, ‘Clerks’, in 1993, writer-director Kevin Smith, himself a former video clerk, has made a name for himself portraying the lives of frustrated, alienated slackers stuck in unfulfilling jobs. Smith’s fourth film, ‘Dogma’, is due out later this year.

“The tell-tale sign is usually that you’ll accept five bucks an hour, so long as it’s under the table. And when the conversation among your friends turns to, ‘You know, if the money was good, I’d probably be in a porno,’ is a sure sign that the job you’re in isn’t very fulfulling. And how to get out of it? Make a movie- though it’s better if it’s not a porno. It worked for me.”
