  • “Video Store” magazine printed yet another glowing review of the Mallrats DVD. By the way, the DVD IS in stock at DVD Empire as well as Amazon.Com, and we hear it’s starting to pop up in more plentiful numbers at local retail outlets. Keep searching, folks! Don’t miss your chance to own the best DVD on the market. Anyway, here’s their capsule review (our FULL REVIEW is still available in case ya missed it):
MALLRATS: COLLECTOR’S EDITION

Universal delivers the goods on this disc, with an excellent anamorphic widescreen picture and 5.1 surround sound quality, nearly an hour of outtakes and deleted footage, stills, bios, a production featurette and even a funny hidden “Easter Egg” or two.The audio commentary track that includes director Kevin Smith and Ben Affleck is particulary funny, with video clips of the commentators in action available during ceratin portions, accessible by using the angle button.Like the movie or not, the content alone makes this one of the most enjoyable discs of the year. Plus, you get Ben Affleck, Claire Forlani, Joey Lauren Adams (the squeaky-voiced girl from Chasing Amy), and an appearance by the ever-popular Silent Bob and Jay, recurring characters in Smith’s films. Fans of Smith rejoice–this is an outstanding collector’s edition DVD. -Bill Hunt
