• An anonymous source tells us that the writers for the fun MTV Claymation gore fest “Celebrity Death Match” are in the planning/writing phase for a match in the askew realm…And, surprisingly, it’s not involving Jay & Silent Bob! Believe it or not, in one of the strangest pairings for that show we’ve heard, the gang plan to have Kevin Smith face off against deceased director Alfred Hitchcock! Interesting.

Keep in mind that this episode has not yet been approved for air, and isn’t even written yet. No animation has started on it, of course, and it may end up in the trash can before the film can. We’ll keep ya posted, though, and remember, you heard it here first!

• Vincent’s received his November issue of Fangoria #188, and yep, there’s a story inside (page 14), complete with pics, on A BETTER PLACE! We’ll have scans and the story as soon as we get the issue (unless one of you beat us to it), but we’d like to urge you to go out to the newsstand and pick up a copy — Heck, Vincent will probably even sign it for ya if you run into him at the Dogma screening or elsewhere.

Congrats to Vincent on making the magazine…As a Fango reader from my youth, as I know Vincent is as well, it’s gotta be a dream come true to see your film featured in there.

• A rare quick Saturday update for ya here, folks…We’ve got a few big news items that we didn’t want to sit on until tomorrow, so we thought we’d get this stuff into your hands ASAP…

• A< href=”http://www.affleck.com”>Ben Affleck will star alongside one of our favorite actors, “Robert DeNiro, in “The Score”. He’ll play a thief who convinces veteran crook DeNiro to come along on one last job. With Frank Oz on board as director, we’re not sure if they’ve got comedy in mind (Though Oz is traditionally a comedic director), but we’re excited to see a team-up like this. The script’s ready to go, and filming begins on March 6th in Canada.
• Remeber when God was supposed to be played by Emma Thompson in Dogma, but she decided to pass because she wanted to have a baby? Well, here’s your closure.

• The issue of High Times magazine with Jason Mewes on the cover is now on newsstands. It features a 3-page story onMewes and the Stash. So check it out and maybe send us a transcript, duuuuuuuuuuude.
