• Let the Lions Gate press machine continue! There is a small ad for Dogma in the new issue of Time Out New York. Rather than the tagline Get Touched By and Angel, It reads “Have your read the Hate Letter of the Week?” The ad also gives out the offical Dogma site address. We believe this ad (or a similar one) will be running in a lot of other periodicals soon.

• A new pic of Alanis in her Dogma garb appears in the November issue of ALLURE MAGAZINE. The article is called “Good God”. Click the thumb for a scan of the text with the pic of Alanis in her divine threads.
• Another Jay & Silent Bob reference in the (sometimes) funny books — The latest issue of DC’s Young Justice, number 15, has an Askew reference. Superboy and Impulse crash a party at Arrowette’s school in street-clothes and a stick on goatee – Superboy asks how they look, to which Arrowette replies “Like Jay and Silent Bob.” Send us a scan.
• RoughCut.com is also giving free passes out for Dogma! If you live in Atlanta or Raleigh and want to see the flick a day before the rest of North America (November 11th), it’d be a good idea to surf them up.
• If anyone’s got a copy of the comic surrounding Kevin and Dogma that ran in the Village Voice, send us a scan!
• There is an interview with Howard Shore over at www.soundtrack.net in which he discusses the score he did for Dogma, amongst other things. Read it here.

• Dogma played ShowEast last night, and holds the prestige of now being the first ever Full-Length feature film presented in an all digital format at the festival. Wow. And we hear it was SWEET! In fact, we’ve been holding off on fan reviews for the flick just because there’s too darn many, but here’s a scooper’s writeup of the experience and completely non-spoiler thoughts on the film. Sounds like he LOVED it through and through, along with the rest of the audience:

• Alright, this is it folks…By the time most of you read this, the main News Askew update PC will be IN THE BOX! That’s right, I won’t be reading e-mails or making updates for a few days due to the final days of the move. We apologize in advance for this, and thank you in advance for your understanding and patience.

We HOPE to be back as soon as Monday with an update, but if that doesn’t happen, we ARE planning to somehow drag our butts into Red Bank for the Dogma screening on Monday night. Sorry folks, tickets are sold out — You had PLENTY of chances to get them, though! Anyway, if you spot us there, please don’t by shy, come over and say hi. I didn’t mean for that to rhyme, really. So anyway, wish us luck, we’ve got some BIG stuff to move and carry on Saturday. Hopefully the weather stays nice and all goes well.

In the news today, Dogma played in all-digital format at ShowEast last night to great awe and admiration. We’re got a review of that experience and some other little bits as well. Enjoy…

• We’ve finally acquired a scan of that Premiere Magazine ad for your chance to be invited to a special Sneak Preview of Dogma. Click the thumb to read it. • Another chance for you college folk to catch Dogma early! Way cool. There will be a FREE preview screening of the flick on November 8th at the University of Delaware (Newark, DE). It will be shown in the Trabant Movie Theater at 8:00. If anyone has any questions they can e-mail Jessica at the address above in the scoopers list.

• For those of you wondering the moving agenda: We’ve been planning the move since I decided to buy this house a month ago, but just this week started to actually get INTO our respective new places. So we’ve been boxing stuff up until this week, now we’re taking car trips back and forth as we move stuff along. This Saturday we get the BIG moving trucks and take care of our big ticket items, and then should be completely out of the old place.

Why are we telling you all this? Well, after tomorrow, the computers MUST be boxed up so News Askew will not receive any updates until Sunday at the earliest. Sorry in advance for the downtime, we know it’s gonna be tough catching up with the news as well as your e-mail messages, but we’ll be back on the air ASAP. I’ve already got my new internet account and provider ready to roll, so it’s just a matter of unboxing the PC and setting it up (along with the other piles of boxes currently cluttering the house). Same for Chris.

Just a few things to talk about today, actually. CNN ran another article on the flick with an Alanis flair (you can find it over on Dogma RC) and we’ve got just a couple of NewsBites. We realize the news has been primarily newsbites lately, but this stuff just doesn’t have much you can say about it — We’re sure there’ll be plenty of headlining news when Dogma comes out though. Too bad we don’t have any vacation left from our other jobs — We may need it!

• Believe it or not, we’re back. It’s tough to rest when there’s so much going on out there in the View Askew world, and we want to make sure you’re as up to date as possible! So it’s time to take an hour or so off from packing and moving to work on a quick update for ya here. By the way, if you’re waiting on a personal response to an e-mail you sent, sit tight for a bit, I’ve read them, I just need some quality time to sit in front of the PC and it just hasn’t happened yet this week. All will be read and replied to, as always, though. Promise.

Oh, and that reminds me: Thanks to all of you who wrote to remind us that the Pokemon movie ALSO opens against Dogma on November the 12th. What a world we live in.

• Even though she didn’t appear bottomless in an extra special hidden section of the Mallrats DVD as Kevin joked in the disc’s Easter Egg, we’re still big fans of hers, and this news about her possible appearance in an upcoming vampire flick sounds interesting enough (POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD):

• This stuff is always SO much fun to read! An article was published on Virgin.Net surround all the horrible, awful, nastymovies out there…They hit Blair Witch, South Park, and lots more…And of course…

• Attention Indiana University students (or those of you with fake ISU ID’s)!!! DOGMA will be shown as a sneak preview on NOVEMBER the 8th in the Indiana Memorial Union (IMU)’s Theater Room. Tickets are FREE, two per IU ID. The tickets will be given out a week prior at the IMU’s Student Activities Desk. Sounds like only IU students are being permitted, but wow,there’s your chance to see Dogma almost a whole week early AND for free no less. A cheap date!
• Again, be sure and check out Dogma RC for a new article from a Pittsburgh paper on the screening as well as a review from the Detroit News (and it’s not so good…)

• Get those Pittsburgh Film Fest tickets! We know there’s a ton of you out there just dying to see the flick, and they’re now on sale — A scooper checked in and said the line was actually short, so if you didn’t buy yet just because you figured they’d sell right out, now’s your chance. As for the queries about Kevin’s presence at the screening, we can’t confirm any appearances at this time, but CAN tell you that Kevin and Scott have attended most, if not all, of the screenings of the flick so far.

• This website has posted a Dogma poll of sorts, folks how they feel about movies making religous interpretations and their right to make light of some of it. Check it out (and hey, vote in our new poll topic too!)
• Wow, Ethan Supplee in the news AGAIN! He’s everywhere! A scooper spotted the big guy filming a stint for “Road Trip” the other day. Here’s his report:

• Claire Forlani has officially joined the “Boys And Girls” cast, replacing Anna Friel. Heather Donohue (THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT) and Freddie Prinze Jr. also star in this upcoming Miramax flick.
• The new issue of Alternative Press (with Chris Cornell on the cover) has a small interview with Jason Lee. They alsohave a bit on Dogma in their movie section. It’s a mini review but a bit tepid, since they seem to feel the flick’s onlygeared towards fans of Kev’s other work…Not that we agree, but here’s what they said:

They finish by giving it a rating of 3 (on a scale of 1-5) which was a point higher than Elmo In Grouchland, but a pointlower than Bringing Out The Dead. It would have been insulting to have been beaten by a red fuzzy dude.

• By the way, wondering what Dogma’s up against next month? New flicks include Anywhere But Here, Light It Up andLuc Besson’s The Messenger: The Story Of Joan Of Arc. The latter may be cool, but since the TV version’s come and gone, we expect Dogma to clean up the weekend of November 12th.
• George Carlin will be the guest for an upcoming Comedy Central chat on October 26 at 8pm Eastern Time. Make sure you get logged on early, it’s sure to be a great time for all!

Alright, back to the packing and the moving! We’ll catch ya when we can. Again, sorry for the less frequent updates, and the slowness and shortness of e-mails — It’s gonna be like this for the next week or so ’til we can get resettled.

• Phew! This moving stuff is really taking its toll. Man, you should SEE the shape of our townhouse right now. It’s a total disaster zone. The worst part of it is that Chris still can’t get into his new place, so he’s gotta just sit there and watch us move our stuff out. I, on the other hand, am now officially a homeowner. Signed the settlement on Friday. So I spent a good part of my weekend getting some boxes thrown into the place and the like — It’s amazing how much stuff one amasses over the years, you don’t ever realize it until you move. Sit back and just look around sometime, you’ll be as surprised as we are — Moving is a LOT of work.

Oh, and a few of ya wanna see pics of my new pad, and I WILL post them – But I’m waiting until after I move in to take some “after” pictures to go with the “before”. Then I’ll develop the film and share with ya. As for Chris and HIS new place, well, that’s up to him.

So we apologize for missing yesterday’s update…It’s pretty rare that we miss a Sunday, but there wasn’t much going on anyway. Just a few stories for today, really — This is all sort of a precursor to the all-out Dogma blitz that we expect to happen any day now. We’ll be settled in and ready by then, HOPEFULLY…
