• The Toronto Film Festival is all abuzz about Almost Famous. The Ottawa Citizen ran a piece on the flick with this new cast pic (click above to enlarge). The Toronto Star and Globe And Mail are also throwing massive support behind the flick. We’re also hearing highly positive fan reviews from those who have seen it, and Entertainment Weekly gave it an A-. Another great choice for Jason Lee, who really seems to pick some wonderful projects to work on.

• Kevin’s mentioned a couple times in the latest Entertainment Weekly magazine…Nothing new, but a good plug for the upcoming Fletch Lives project on page 9 in there “Lights, Camera, Inaction!” section about projects that faltered but are now back underway.

• Brian Lynch was kind enough to shoot us off a little clarification on the rumor yesterday, basically debunking it. AICN also concurred with this news today. Here’s what we got:

• We realize that tickets sold out VERY fast for Kevin’s New York City screening of Dogma this Saturday…BUT there MAY be hope. We can’t promise anything, but the Lincoln Center webpage says they may have a STANDBY line on the day of the show to sell tickets for any open seats left over from folks who don’t show or tix they never sold. So if ya don’t mind standing in line in NYC for a while on Saturday, you might still have a chance!
• Very surprisingly, Jeffrey Wells listed “VULGAR” as one of his must-see movies at the Toronto Film Festival this year. Check it out:

• Aint It Cool News is reporting that Brian Lynch is in talks to write and possibly direct a third entry in Warner Bros’ “Gremlins” franchise. Rumor has it that the suits dug Lynch’s script for “Nightcrawlers”, and expressed interest in him on that merit. This is currently listed as just RUMOR, and those of you know that when AICN says it’s a rumor, it really must be just that.

Lynch’s first feature, “Big Helium Dog”, which he wrote and directed (and your friendly neighborhood webmasters have a huge, massive, groundbreaking part in) is scheduled to play at this year’s Vulgarthon In Red Bank, NJ. His script for “The Next Muppet Movie” should also start getting underway with production soon.

• There’s an article in the new Premiere Magazine on Directors who make commercials between films. Included is Kevin’s Diet Coke ads. They pan the ads, but don’t blame him due to bad scripts:

• Florida International University is holding a special preview screening of “Almost Famous” on SEPTEMBER 13th and 9:00 PM at their south campus, University Park. Tickets are limited and supposedly only being sold two at a time to those with a student ID. Call in some favors.

Commercials are ALSO touting “Almost Famous” sneak previews around the country this Saturday, so check your local theaters.

• Keep those eyes peeled for cheap copies of Dogma at your local video shops…Previously viewed copies are popping up everywhere! Be sure and ask Santa for a DVD player this year so you can purchase your copy of the Special Edition, though. You won’t want to miss it.
• A new Jay & Silent Bob theme is now available at Files Askew! Surf over to our library to check it out.
• Here’s a site that has Clerks up as a choice in a poll for best new TV series this summer. Nice to see some recognition for the show anyway!
• “Tail Lights Fade” is making its cable debut on Cinemax this month (at least, it’s the first time we’ve seen it airing anywhere). The flick’s airing on Cinemax, according to their website:

• Anyone wondering what Daredevil inker Jimmy Palmiotti’s been up to on the side since he scaled back his work in the comic field? Well, he’s been working on a weird/gross out/pornography website called Brooklyn Bizarro, of course. Jimmy says, “It’s just a sick fun place to put stuff up and cause a good laugh around the internet. It’s like the basement of a friend’s house when you are growing up, if you can understand what I mean.” All we can say is, enter at your own risk, and you kids get your parents’ permission! The site’s gotten quite an underground following going, and we can’t help but assume that some NA readers will be part of that following after this mention. Enjoy, but be careful…There’s some really nasty stuff in there!
• A new homemade indepdendent game called “TCMGame” will feature an appearance by your favorite dynamic duo. Here’s a screenshot. The game is set to release October 15, 2000. The guys are going for the old Nintendo look, hence the funny little people. You’ll fine the game at tcmgame.homepage.com. The company working on it is at Omnicidal Software.
• Those of you keeping up with the latest on Affleck’s “PEARL HARBOR” will find some new pics and an MPEG file at this site.
