• Told ya we’d be back. There’s still lots to cover today! The bigger stories might be posted in the middle of the day from time to time, especially with the visibility of the new movie, as the scoops mailbox gets overloaded with repeat scoops when something big happens. We may hafta insititute a new policy where only up to the first five e-mails on a particular scoop get the credit or something, or we may spend half the update entering e-mail addresses instead of story material!

The forums are going strong and doing well, and have calmed down from the look of things. Glad to see that they’re proving useful to you. There’s fixes and patches going in at all times, so if you find a problem, let us know. Earlier today the guest feature was accidentally turned off, so guests couldn’t even access the board. This has now been fixed. If you don’t want an account and just want to lurk around and read stuff, you’re more than welcome to do so.

As for all the DVD chatter going on lately, think of it this way – At least there’s something to look forward to. With releases of the Dogma SE, A Better Place, and Drawing Flies all happening in 2001, probably all this summer from the look of things, there’s not going to be much else to release in the format except for J&SBSB when it eventually arrives. Think about it THAT way!

Alright, that should catch things up a bit on the background stuff…Now let’s see what’s doin’ in the world of Askew today:

• Kevin stopped in from shooting J&SBSB to let us all know what was going on. Check it out for yourself!

• Kevin’s not the only one checking in at the board with a few words from the set…Jason Lee has also been popping by quite frequently to answer questions and talk about what he’s been up to. In this little clip, he reveals some interesting information about Chris Rock’s ad-libbing on the set (could it be?) and looks back on Banky and forward to Brodie (filming at the end of this month):

Sounds like Lee really wants work with Kevin more in the future, and we’re sure that’ll happen. Very cool.

• We usually don’t mention ebay auctions anymore, cuz there’s just too much stuff out there, but you may be interested to know that Ande Parks himself is selling an “Unpublished Splash Page from Kevin Smith’s GREEN ARROW #1” at the site. This is a very valuable piece as all of the stuff from issue #1 is already spoken for. At presstime, it’s at $400.00, but who knows how high it’ll go before it’s over? • This article from the American Mule website gives some nice props to Almost Famous and, particularly, Jason Lee, as an Oscar contender who got snubbed. Check out the snippet below:

• Rumor has it that Drawing Flies may see its DVD release this August, though nothing has been set in stone at this point. Being one of the three View Askew Productions due to see DVD release this year, though, we’ll be keeping our eyes on this one.
• Remember…Dogma’s airing on the Starz! movie channel all this month. You can catch it this week on Thursday at 11:45 PM & Saturday at 11:15 PM.
• Strong believers in one good turn deserving another, thanks to the dude at www.iwantanewgirlfriend.com for the plug the other day. He’s obviously a big VA fan, with lots of Askew graphics and mentions and stuff over there.

• Mysterio’s yet again checked in with a week’s summary of material straight from the set of Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back. This report coincides with the few days we were on set as well. Coincidentally, part 2 of our own report will appear online shortly, it’s been very busy lately.

Anyway, this week’s report focuses on more Bluntcave stuff at Stage 19, and involves encounters with Jason Lee, Will Ferrell, and more. No interviews this week, just the facts from the set.
