  • MSNBC recently ran a special on Ben Affleck called “Headliners & Legends”. This was on VERY late at night and we hadn’t heard about it, hence the non mention. If we hear of it airing again, we’ll let ya know. Anyway, we hear the show was good for anyone who wants to know where the guy comes from. Both his personal and acting history are well examined. They talk about his work with Kevin pretty extensively as the turning point in Affleck’s career. Some interview time was spent with Kevin, a clip of Mallrats was shown (though the narrator called it “forgettable”), and quite a bit of time was spent on Chasing Amy.
  • Will “Vulgar” share a release date with Jay & Silent Bob? The current schedule says so. Lions Gate‘s slate still lists the flick for release on August 24th. Though we believe they’ll start with a limited release, it’d still be kinda neat to see 2 View Askew productions hit theatres on the same day. It could happen!
  • Finally today, in Terry Moore’s “Strangers in Paradise” #41 (the new issue) a reader wrote in and said:
“I read an article with Kevin Smith who named yours as one of his favorite reads. I thought that was pretty darn spiffy.”

Moore writes back and says:

“Thanks Joseph. Since I’m a Kevin Smith fan, I’m glad to hear that–especially since he turned down the opportunity to direct the SIP movie a couple of years ago! I won’t blame him though, I think the producer on that particular pitch wanted to cast Louie Anderson as Katchoo. He called it a Divine idea. I call it something else.”
