Kevin In Kentucky – Full Details…

April 10th @ 7:42 pm | No Comments » | Scooped by Tony Smith

  • The SplitScreen Film Festival happens this weekend in Kentucky — They’re showing over 50 movies from around the world, most of which are either U.S. or world premieres. All SplitScreen movies are free admission. Seating capacity is limited, seating not guaranteed, so arrive early!

There will be a special midnight screening of “Dogma” at the historic Kentucky Theatre on Main Street of downtown Lexington this Saturday, April 13. Tickets are $4.50 at the door.

Kevin will be speaking on Monday, April 15, the last day of the festival, 7 PM, at UK Memorial Coliseum. Tickets are on sale NOW through Ticketmaster. If you call 859-257-TICS, you can get a dirt cheap bundle price of $15 to see both Smith and John Singleton, who’s speaking this Friday night, 8 PM, at UK Memorial Hall.

FYI – Friday night, after John Singleton and right before the special midnight screening of “Boyz N the Hood” at the Kentucky Theatre, there’s going to be a huge party at the downtown Phoenix Park on the corner of Main and Limestone, complete with live jazz bands and “guerilla theatre” video projections on the sides of buildings.

Sounds like a fun way to spend the next few days if you’re in the area! Check out http://www.splitscreenfilmfest.com for a full schedule of events or email mrtony@aye.net for more information.
