  • Howdy folks! Long time no talk! How ya been? Anyway, it’s certainly been exciting ’round these parts these days, with so many of you actually making it to the Jersey Girl set. You’ve also been incredibly good about keeping secrecy as well, as we’re not seeing a lot of information leakage regarding important plot points, dialogue, and the like. Believe it or not, JG’s got a lot of secrecy surrounding it, and everyone’s doing their best not to let any of that stuff get out (yep, even us…). With release over a year away, it’s gonna be a tough feat!

Anyway, we made our first visit to the land of Jersey Girl on Friday night, during one of their night shoots in Paulsboro. We’ll have some details surrounding that visit for ya soon. We’re hopeful to make another visit or two as well before they wrap production in November. Needless to say, the cast and crew are working hard on this one, and the results are looking great so far. Everyone we spoke with was absolutely thrilled with the way things were going.

Alrighty, well, considering the sleep schedule’s all messed up for the weekend, it took until today to sort through the e-mail and get back into the updating practice, so let’s take a look at what’s new…

  • The Internet Movie Database ran this little blurb regarding a scene shot for Jersey Girl outside of St. John’s church in Paulsboro last week:
J.Lo Shines As A Bride — In A Movie

Jennifer Lopez wowed onlookers as she stepped out of a church in New Jersey dressed in a lavish gown and gave her beau Ben Affleck a big kiss. But anybody outside St. John’s church in Paulsboro who witnessed the joyous occasion, was quick to learn that it wasn’t real life – just a scene from their new movie Jersey Girl. Lopez, 32, and 30-year-old Affleck, who made their romance public earlier this summer, star in the new drama together which is about the effect of a new wife on the life of a PR man in the music business. And sources on the set of film say that after director Kevin Smith yelled “Cut!” the Hollywood couple remained in deep liplocked passion, with J.Lo crawling into her lover’s lap to watch the playback. An eyewitness says, “They looked all lovey-dovey. She couldn’t keep her hands off him.”

  • This looks familiar but we can’t find a mention of it in the archives, so here ya go — A full description (complete with photos) of the ill-fated Clerks live action sitcom is online for your reading/viewing pleasure. Perhaps this will convince you that this show indeed was destined for the TV wasteland.
  • R.S.V.P. – The new indie mystery movie with Jason Mewes is part of the Scream Fest L.A. line-up, held from October 17 – October 20, which will also feature Wes Craven in person. For tickets, call 323-656-4SCREAM , go to www.screamfestla.com, or go to the box office at 7907 Beverly Blvd. For a NEW trailer (which quotes yours truly but mispronounces the last name horribly as they all do), check out www.rsvpthemovie.com.
  • In Canada, the CBC will be showing Dogma on Friday, October 11th at 11:30 pm. The schedule has it at only 2 hours, which must be a typo, unless they REALLY edited it down.
  • That’s all we’ve got for now — We’ll be back tomorrow with more, as we work on our Jersey Girl set visit report and more. Have a good one!
