Wanna See The ONLY Kevin Q&A This Year?

October 19th @ 2:23 pm | No Comments » | Scooped by Kevin Smith

  • Kevin just got in touch with us to let us know that he’ll be doing just ONE Q&A session this year. Wanna be there? We’d love to see it fill up with News Askew readers. Well, now you’re among the first to know! Here’s Kevin with the fulldetails on what sounds like a fantastic evening:
Former New York Times film critic Janet Maslin (who was always really great to our flicks) invited me to host a screening of “A Man for All Seasons” at a theater she programs between reviewing books for the Times. For those interested in checking out a print of this great film, and then watching me shuck and jive afterwards, here’s the info:

The Jacob Burns Film Center
364 Manville Road
Pleasantville, New York
10570
November 2nd.
Movie starts at 5pm.
Call 914-747-5555 for schedule info.

This is the only Q&A I’ll be doing this year, so come on out. Should be intimate and fun.

We’re not sure if tickets are being sold in advance, or first-come, first-served the night of the show. If anyone finds out more, let us know.

HUGE JG Article In Tomorrow’s Inquirer…

October 19th @ 2:23 pm | No Comments » | Scooped by Robert Getz

  • The Sunday edition of the Philadelphia Inquirer will include a huge article on the front of the Arts and Entertainment section, this one surrounding the “press conference” shoot that took place at the Hard Rock. The article, titled “‘Jersey’ Boys”, also includes a big color picture on the front of this section. As soon as we have a good scan or an online version of the article, we’ll post it up for you here.

  • Wow, if there was a Tower Records around here we’d be clearing the shelves right now — They’re selling a TON of action figures at $1.99 EACH, including the Jay & Silent Bob Bluntman & Chronic! This is a HUGE deal. Surf HERE for details on all the stuff that’s on sale (even Simpsons figures, dammit)! Happy hunting.
  • She’s a popular girl these days — The Askew Crapper has another new interview with View Askew’s Amy Noble. It’s quite extensive and a nice read, too. Recommended!
  • Photos from the Marshall talent show (and O’Halloran) can be found at the Marshall website, though they seem pretty dark for the most part. We’re told more pics are on the way, though.
