- Interestingly enough, Kevin’s hinting in this thread over at the WWWBoard that Jersey Girl might actually get moved UP in the release date chain! Maybe even BEFORE Gigli? We shall see. We assume nothing will be decided until they’ve got the final cut done. Stay tuned.
- One Hand Clapping over at the ‘Shoot has a nice little piece/review on “Now You Know”. There’s a capsule review there for those of you who’ve yet to see the flick and wanna know what it’s all about. It’s currently playing in New York City.
- At Residence Life Comics, the current episode (12/16) has a Mallrats reference. One of the main characters is dressed just like Brodie, and he’s going to the mall.
- Diamond Select Toys has revealed a closer took at the new Black Cat figure. Surf over and click on the features for details, design specs, and more!
- ShoutWeb ran a photo of Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor wearing a Jay & Bob tee.

- Here’s a scooper-sent recap of Kevin’s KROQ appearance from earlier this week:
- “Now You Know” continues to screen at the Crown Theatres, New York Twin One-Two(1271 Second Ave., 66th St and 2nd Ave). Catch it from today until Thursday the 19th, every day, at the following showtimes: 1:00, 3:15, 5:30, 7:45, and 10:00. The Asbury Park Press also ran a nice little article on the film including some new quotes from Jeff:
Anderson, who also played the supporting role of Gil in “Now You Know,” had to learn Smith’s trick of directing himself. (Smith and his wife, Jennifer Schalbach Smith, have roles in “Now You Know.”)
“Going into it, I thought I had a pretty small part,” Anderson says. “But every day on the set, I’d be like, ‘Oh my God, I’m in this scene? I’m in this scene?’ I think my character was actually on about 65 pages of the script.”
- At this site, there are a number of jpeg wallpapers that are parodies of the Apple Switch ad campaign. Among them is a pretty cool J&SB one. Lots of other good stuff too. All in various resolutions, and they should work on either a PC or a MAC as wallpaper. Enjoy.
New Jersey Girl Diary From Kevin!
- Well, it’s here folks, and as always, it doesn’t disappoint. Kevin drops us a TON of info in his second entry in the Jersey Girl Diary, now available in full form exclusively at our own Movie Poop Shoot!
We’ve got full size versions of all the photos used in the piece (a few you’ll see above) over at our Jersey Girl website, Exit 37. So be sure and stop over there to check out these great new pics in all their glory.
Want a preview of some of the goodies from the piece? Alright, alright, twist our arms. Here’s some snippets:
Anybody who incorporates “Snootchie Bootchies!” into their Internet postings or daily conversations might wanna wait for the CLERKS cartoon flick (which — take this as promise or a threat — is next for us) and skip this one. I’ll save you the time of having to post this on our Web-board and let you know that I understand you feel I’m a “pussy,” a “sell-out,” “I’ve lost it” (whatever “it” was), and I “eat cok.” You’re not going to change my mind about the flick; I just love it too much.
The Next Flick. Now that we’re wrapped on JERSEY GIRL, I keep getting this “What’re you doing next?” shit. Aside from the CLERKS cartoon movie (which, once I’m done writing, is out of my hands and into the hands of the directors/animators), truth is, I’m not sure. There are a few options (FLETCH WON – but only if they let Lee play Fletch; this sci-fi thing I’ve been toying with, and a pair of comic-book flicks: one that’s very close to my heart and one that would be completely out of left field) but I’ve yet to figure it out. For the first time in the nearly 10 years we’ve been doing this, I find myself at the end of one movie, not knowing what the next one will be. No complaints, mind you; it’s actually kind of nice. But weird. Maybe it’s time for a vacation finally.
Thanks to all who notified us of this — The scooper list is too HUGE to print. We appreciate it. Enjoy the new entry! We assume we’ll see these more frequently, now that shooting has wrapped up. Especially after the busy holiday season has left us. Stick around.
New Kevin Interview Online At DVDTalk!
- DVD Talk has posted an Interview/Teleconference with Kevin Smith, recorded on Tuesday, about the release of “An Evening with Kevin Smith”. The Interview includes the audio responses from Kevin in MP3 format! Cool stuff.
This one’s got a TON of great new content from Kevin, as it’s the first lengthy interview he’s done in a while that we’re aware of. Hints of “Big Helium Dog”, the least seen View Askew production, hitting DVD are mentioned. Lots more great stuff on a variety of topics. Don’t miss this one. They misspelled “Mosier”, otherwise, not bad at all.
Read it or listen to it all right HERE.
IGN also has the same teleconference if you need somewhere else to check it out.

New Starr/Root Interview Up At The Shoot!
- Yet again, another edition of “Renaissance Man” brings us new interviews and photos from the set of Jersey Girl! This time, Antony chats with Stephen Root (Greenie) and Mike Starr (Block). Check out a new shot of each in character from the film, and of course, the Q&A. Here’s a preview:
SR: We were kind of lucky. Kevin [Smith] saw Mike and I as a duo in his mind. Basically, this was the casting that he wanted. We went through all the machinations, and he ended up with the three guys that he wanted: George [Carlin], Mike, and myself. [We comprise] a little Greek chorus, as it were. But I also knew Kevin because I’m a big comic [book] guy.
MS: I had met Kevin before when he was doing these Coke commercials. I remember taking the subway down [to the audition], and I was sick as a dog. They said I had a nice ‘understated’ look. What they didn’t know was that I looked that way because I was really dehydrated and had a hundred and two degree temperature. [Laughs] So we wound up working on those [commercials], and had a great time working in Red Bank for a few days.
