“Money Shots” Have Started To Roll…

October 8th @ 10:03 pm | No Comments » | Scooped by Jesse Letourneau

  • Catch the front page of Quick Stop Entertainment for the first episode of “Money Shots” following the intro — This one also features Smith and Rogen in a “private” conversation early on during production. It’s funny to see that the guys predicted some of the press that would come along well after shooting had finished. As always, these exclusive web shorts come to us from Quick Stop Entertainment, the entertainment portal on the web brought to you by View Askew. All webisodes are produced and directed by Zak Knutson and Joey Figueroa.

Missed the intro? Never fear – Today’s update also introduced an archive page which will have every episode in order, in case you missed one. The front page at QSE will always be the home of the latest edition. There’s no word on how many episodes are in the can at this point, but Zak did mention the plan was to run a new one daily up until the film’s release, so we’re expecting somewhere from 20 to 30 clips as the month rolls on. Stay tuned to News Askew as well as the front page of Quick Stop Entertainment for the latest “Money Shots”.

  • Kevin makes a notable appearance in the new issue of MovieMaker magazine (Iss.77 Vol.15). Inside, an article titled “Can Today’s 25 Most Successful Indie-Minded Directors Save Hollywood?” details the modern masters of the art of independent film. The rankings take a look at several aspects, such as prolificacy and strength of vision. Kevin breaks into the list at the 20th spot, holding strong with the likes of Sofia Coppola and Alexander Payne. Also, Kevin stands in the lead of Michael Moore (ranked 22) and Paul Thomas Anderson (ranked 25). See the scan above for all they had to say about our man Smith.
  • The Toronto Star mentions that the upcoming Kevin & Jay Degrassi arc will involve taking some cast members to Los Angeles:

Producers are also working on a four-episode story arc that takes some of the cast members to Hollywood, where they’ll hook up with two long-time DeGrassi fanatics, director/actor Kevin Smith and sidekick Jason Mewes (who’ve previously appeared on the series).

Stefan Brogren, who played Snake in the series’ previous incarnation, DeGrassi High, and has since returned to the series as a regular, teacher Mr. Simpson, has been charged with the task of writing and directing the quartet of episodes.

Much of the advance work on the Hollywood segments has already been shot at various locations around Toronto, Brogren said.

“We doubled Toronto for Hollywood for a lot of it. It’s amazing what a couple of palm trees can do,” Brogren said, with a laugh.

But it still means a four-day “guerrilla” shoot in Los Angeles to capture images of those places that are “so iconically Hollywood,” he said.

  • More “Zack And Miri” spottings in the wild – The trailer has been attached to prints of the new flick “Choke” from writer Chuck Palahniuk (“Fight Club”). The movie is now in theaters. Also, one fan caught a banner of the film on the side of a bus in Boston (see photo).
  • Fan Christine checks in with photos and a blog covering Kevin’s recent appearance at the Woodstock Film Festival. They’ve also got links to video of the speech Kevin gave, which we believe are the same that we ran last update.
