- KROQ has NOW announced that Kevin’s appearance on the Kevin & Bean morning show has been postponed for a couple of weeks. This is probably to keep the flick more fresh in the mind of the listeners closer to its release date.
- As many of you know, MTV is celebrating their 20th anniversary this week, and airing old shows, promotions, and the like. Naturally, with the new movie on the way, they broke out a couple of the old Jay & Silent Bob shorts from a couple years back. Scoopers caught Jay’s rant on female singers he liked, as well as the short that featured Matt Damon as a cable installer, before he became famous from Good Will Hunting. You can view all the MTV shorts and read more details in our SUMMARIES area.
- We’re unable to confirm, but this website claims alternative rock star Liz Phair makes her film debut in “Jay & Silent Bob Strike Backâ€. This is the first we’ve heard of this, and are sure her apperance would be brief. Phair contributed a tune, “Californiaâ€, to Chasing Amy.
- The Afroman hype continues! A new interview with the man appears HERE. Howard Stern is also prepping plans for him to come into the studio to perform the song live. We’ll keep you posted on that one.
- Blockbuster in Australia have confirmed the Chasing Amy release on DVD for the 8th of August. No word on which, if any, of the disc’s special features will be included.
- Got a lot of e-mail on this one. We posted the two Chasing Amy parody posters that appeared there last week, now Star Wars super fansite The Force.net has added another fan poster that takes a cue from Mallrats. Check it out above.
- A slight View Askew reference was caught in a comic called “Battle Pope Mayhem†issue #1. In it, as the Pope and Jesus walk out of a bar, they pass RST Video. If anyone has a scan, send it on.
- Tracy Morgan appeared on Boston Rap station Jam’n 94.5 this morning, promoting J&SBSB and of course, SNL. Here’s a summary of the appearance we received:
He and the DJs talked about the stereotypical role for a black man to play a drug dealer. Morgan said people should just relax about it and that this is a funny movie. The DJ informed Tracy that whenever they play the Afroman song from the soundtrack, stoned people always call-in to show their love. Tracy left off by saying that the movie is very funny and we should check it out.
- It’s an incredibly busy day here, we might be back with more later! Thanks for stopping by…
