• Now HERE’S some strange stuff. Two posts from the DVD Debate website have revealed some interesting stuff going on with Dogma DVDs abroad. First of all, THIS POST reveals that a French region 2 version of Dogma has been released, with burnt-in subtitles BUT (here’s the surprise) a DTS sound mix that’s better than the Dolby Digital mix!?!? Wow. Now THAT’S something I’d love to run through my system. The reviewer does say that, strangely, you hafta reverse speaker wire to listen to the DTS mix properly, as the front and rear speaker signals got messed up in the pressing (if that’s true, wow, they should recall those suckers). Still, sounds like a fun experiment if you want to give it a try.

Now, VCI has announced that instead of waiting for the Special Edition, they’re just going to go ahead and release the bare bones Dogma DVD that we’ve got here in the States now. It streets January 15th and is basically the same version that we got here months ago. We advise you hold off, as VCI will probably release the Special Edition as soon as they can get the rights to it (hopefully). Original word from them was that they were going to try and somehow release a special edition with even more content than the US disc, but we doubt that’s going to happen anymore given this news.
