- Wizard World has posted confirmation that Kev and Jay will indeed appear at Wizard World in Chicago – August 17-19, 2001. We’ve added this information to the countdowns now.
- Here’s an excerpt from an article that appeared at EW.com. In it, Kevin discussed the comic book elements of “Unbreakable”:
According to well known ink and paint devotee (and ”Dogma” director) KevinSmith, an affection for the genre informs the film’s somber, rainwashedaesthetic. ”It reminds me a lot of a comic book called ‘The Mage,”’ saysSmith, speaking from the set of his latest offering, ”Jay and Silent BobStrike Back.” That semi- obscure comic follows ”a wizard who convinces aregular guy to try and find out if he’s a superhero, and it’s also set inPhilly.” What’s more, several pundits — including New York Times filmcritic Elvis Mitchell — have mentioned the visual similarities between thesecurity guard hero (Bruce Willis) on patrol in his poncho and a DC Comicscharacter known as ”the Spectre.”
- Live in Atlanta? Wanna see Clerks and Dogma on the big screen, for free? They’ll be playing at the Echo Lounge in Atlanta on Monday, December 18th, at 8 PM. We’re not positive on the free thing, but our scooper speculates that there won’t be a charge…So get in line early!
- The Clerks animated series is getting an airing in Australia on the Seven Network at 5:10am (yikes, set the VCR!)Airings start on the 13th of December. We have no idea if they have the rights to air all 6 or just the 2 that aired stateside.
- Aint-It-Cool-News has posted a positive review of BREAKERS, the new flick with JASON LEE, Gene Hackman, and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Read it HERE.
- Loaded, a national and widely-read “lads” magazine here in England ranked none other than Rats’ Claire Forlani at number 31 in their “Hot 100” – the list of attractive women to watch in the coming year. She beat out luminaries along the lines of Charisma Carpenter (Buffy, Angel), Virginie Ledoyen (The Beach) and Anna Kournikova (Uh…Tennis) to get there.
