TOUCHSTONE Pictures’ MOVIES.COM website has details of an open casting call for the lead female role in producer Jerry Bruckheimer’s COYOTE UGLY. The filmmakers are seeking a “sexy young beauty,” approximately 18-22, with a “golden” singing voice, for a romantic comedy about 21-year-old Violet Sanford’s adventures in New York. Written by Gina Wendkos (Jersey Girl), Kevin Smith (Clerks), and Todd Graff (Beautician and the Beast), the script finds Sanford pursuing her dream of becoming a songwriter, only to be sidelined by accolades and notoriety that spring from her day job as a bar maid at the outrageous Coyote Ugly nightclub.
