Finally, On A Sad Note…

  • From a post by Kim on the View Askew WWWBoard:
On a more serious note, Kevin’s grandmother, to whom he is very close, is not long for this world. Kevin has been spending most of his time since his return at her bedside, with his family. He promises to be back on the board and back to signing and sending merchandise just as soon as possible.

We’re very sorry to hear this, and send our deepest sympathies out to Kevin and his family.

  • Oh, and hey, check out http://www.pseudo.com where (if all goes well) Kevin will be appearing on Esoterica Sunday night. If you can’t think of a question, why ask him if he’s played our Clerks, Mallrats, and Amy drinking games? 🙂

  • Got a mail this afternoon from an anonymous scooper, who tells us that Kevin Smith’s Superman Lives script can be purchased at this number:
1-800-666-7499. What the hell, I figure, I’ll bite! So, I call, and sure enough, it’s a script place! “Do you have any Kevin Smith’s Superman Livesscripts?”, I say. “Yes, I do!” Bingo! “How have they been selling?” He proceeded to tell me that he’d already sold a ton, and is looking to get more. I ordered 2 for us, of course, so there may still be some left for you if you hurry.

Just remember where ya heard it, and, scooper, if you’re reading this, thanks for the heads up!

Ain’t This COOL???

So ya want some top secret KEVIN SMITH news? Well one of the elusive geeks of theworld, T-Bird, did a little 2 minute interview with the man himself. No, nothing on Superman, but instead a hint about that mysterious secret project. Hmmmmm.

“ME: So what ever happened to the guy that played Randal in Clerks?

KS: He’s comming back in the next two films.

ME: Oh thats good…wait a second. Two films? I know DOGMA is nextbut whats after that?

KS: Ummm…ohhh…ummmm….well…I can’t really say anything about itright now.

ME: Still negotiaing huh? (He nods while signing my book) Okay, next question: Have you ever considered doing a film like CLERKS, but about Theme Park employees?

KS: WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY? (At this point he drops the pen and starts toreally pay attention)

ME: I said, Have you ever considered making a film like CLERKS, but about Theme Parks, the employees, the rides, obnoxious guests, and all the weirdness that happens in that kind of environment?

KS: Its funny you should mention that. (Said in shock and low so thatonly I could hear.)

ME: Ahhh…the secret fifth film? (He only nodded, smiled, shook my hand, and pass my book onto JAY to sign as well.)

This is great news, having working in the Theme Park biz for 10 years, you’ve only to read a book like MOUSE TAILS to know that a lot of funny business goes on behind the scenes at a park, even Disneyland.

Considering that all his films take place in the Tri-State area, the only real theme park in that area is Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, ripe for filming. Also, if this project is more ambitious than Chasing Amy or Dogma to put the Silent Negotiations mode on-line then perhaps he’s dealing with Warner Brothers for both the film and access to the Theme Park itself as well.”

If there’s any truth to this, I’m going to hafta work on inventing that time travel machine. Don’t think I can stand the wait! Why is this cool? Well, we both live about 3 hours from Great Adventure in New Jersey. Can you say “extras”? I knew that you could.
