Final Logo Details…

July 11th @ 12:00 am | No Comments » | Scooped by Brad & Chris

  • Okay, we’ve finally actually had some time to sit down and discuss some particulars about what we’d like to see in a logo for this page. Quite a few of you have written saying that you’d like to help, but have no idea where to start. Here’s what we’ve come up with:
  • The logo graphic should contain the words “Drinks Askew” (We may also decide to use the words “News Askew” in a separate, smaller logo for the news section, but we’d like to keep “Drinks “Askew” as the main title).
  • The logo graphic should come in around the following size: 535 x 94. This will end up around the same size as the yellow Drinks Askew text you see at the top of the page now, except a little wider.
  • We’d like for you to somehow incorporate caricatures of Jay and Silent Bob, if possible. We think graphics look better in a logo than actual real-life captures.
  • Keep in mind this graphic will be on a BLACK background.

E-Mail us if you have any more questions, and send us as many entires as you’d like. Thanks for all your offers to help!

Fresh Start On Askew Logo Contest

July 10th @ 12:00 am | No Comments » | Scooped by Brad & Chris

  • I just realized that for first timers reading this page, this logo deal may be a bit confusing. If you notice, further down in the news there’s mention of a logo contest that we were planning to hold back in May at the site’s kickoff. This never really came to light. Now, due to our new news section as well as the drinking games, we’re going to need a differentlogo anyway. So, for those of you just joining us that would like to take a stab at a logo, take your time. We’re just getting underway here. Good luck, and thanks!

The Dirt On Dogma…

July 9th @ 12:00 am | No Comments » | Scooped by Brad & Chris

Smalls posted this info on Smith’s upcoming 4th film, “Dogma”, on the Askew web board today:

Lotsa rumours… I’ll see how much I can help…

Filming in possibly February. Toronto’s been tossed out as the filming area but I hear that’s looking less likely but still in possibility.

Cast will most likely include at least Affleck, Smith, Mewes, Suplee, Ewell… perhaps O’Halloran and Anderson…definitely not Lee or Adams…Kevin has mentioned Carlin as a possibility but isn’t confirmed… and then there’s a LOT of rumours floating around for theother parts but it’d be irresponsible to extrapolate from the scant hints we’ve gotten, thisearly into the process.

There’ll be a novelization of it coming out substantially before the film.

But according to Kevin, when that information does go public, we’ll be amoungst the very first to hear it.

Also, some of the extra recruitment might be done through this board.

peace
Smalls

Bluntman & Chronic Action Figures!

July 9th @ 12:00 am | No Comments » | Scooped by Brad & Chris

  • Check this page out from Mike and Ralph who made some super-cool Bluntman & Chronic action figures. If you want some, you’re out of luck, they’re one of a kind, and I doubt Kev wants to share ‘em with ya. You can also read about their meeting with Kev himself, on their page A Clerks Tour. Unlike most of the other Clerks/Askew pages out there, this page actually has a lot of neat original material, including diaries of trips to some of the Red Bank locales as well as the story behind the figures.

A New Look, A New Philosophy: Announcing News Askew!!!

July 7th @ 12:00 am | No Comments » | Scooped by Brad & Chris

Okay, so we slacked off a little…All right, we admit it. We slacked off a LOT. The important part is, we’re BACK! Back and ready. As promised, we’re now going to do our best to make this site THE View Askew news authority. We’ll try our best to keep up with the Message Boards, but we can’t do it all alone! That’s where YOU come in. Please feel free to send any newsbits you come across to brad@newsaskew.com. If all goes well, you should be able to come here on a daily basis for a quick read to find out all that’s going on with Kevin Smith and the gang.

What’s happened with us? Here’s a rundown of the past month and a half:

  • When we last left off, we were about to take a trip into The Stash. It was around a 3 hour drive from our place here in Central PA. Found Red Bank without a problem. It was pretty cool driving around the hometown of the Askew team. The Stash is easy to spot once you get on the block. The giant Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash sticker covering the window is a dead giveaway. We browsed around, looked at all the cool original Bluntman & Chronic and Mallrats comic book artwork on the walls, took a gander at some of the swag, and went on our merry way. We were hoping to place an order for some signed Amy posters, alas, we discovered they were gone as well as out of print (We’ve since lucked upon original Chasing Amy AND Clerks posters, thankfully!).
  • The drinking games for Clerks, Mallrats, and Chasing Amy are still here and will ALWAYS remain here. Thanks to everyone for your continued support through your e-mails and your suggestions. You’ve been helping us make the games better, and we appreciate it. Keep the feedback coming. All e-mails and suggestions are read and will be responded to personally and promptly.
  • We STILL need a logo! SOMEONE out there must be an artist. Have you LOOKED at that ugly News Askew TEXT at the top of our page?!?! Help us get rid of it and see your work come to life on our page! What we’d like is a logo with some nice graphics that says either “News Askew”, “Drinks Askew”, or combines the both of them in some creative way. The best one will become our official logo and be seen by all of the Askewers who visit the news page. Oh, and you’ll get all the credit, don’t worry…Send your submissions to brad@newsaskew.com.
  • Anyway, if you don’t already, read the View Askew Web Board, and come back often for all the latest Askew news served up for ya right here in a nice small package.
