  • Yup, believe it or not, just some ‘ol NewsBites again, that’s all there is. Some nifty ones, though, so be sure and read ‘em carefully. We expect to have lots of days like this for a while, with Dogma winding down here in the States and no more major projects until the Clerks Animated Series in March, there probably won’t be many MAJOR stories coming across our desks. There’s always news, though, and we still anticipate being quite busy ’round these parts.

“The Green Mile” opens today — we’ll try and catch that sometime soon and throw up a quick one or two sentence review. The books were absolutely outstanding, though, and with the team they assembled for the flick, well, we don’t think it can miss.

After today, updates and e-mail may be a bit slow…We’ve both got busy weekends on tap. Chris will be working quite a bit and I’m doing the home improvement thing (installing a garage door opener) which will keep both of us away from the PCs for a bit. Oh, and we’ve both got pics of our respective new places, if anyone cares to see them. We’ll try and get them up soon but in an inobtrusive manner for those of ya who could care less about our pathetic little lives.

Anyway, that’s about enough commentary for today. Heeeeeere’s NewsBites.

  • Some lucky News Askew readers are off to the Film Four Dogma premiere, and we’re happy to hear that the special tix for the screening have been mailed out. They’re specially printed to look like the Dogma poster art. The screening will happen this Monday, the 13th, at the Warner Brothers Cinema in Lesiter Square, London. Doors open at 6 PM. Word is that all the tix are gone and the show is NOT open to the public, but only the lucky ticketholders who received them from Film Four.
  • Speaking of UK news, Alanis is due to appear on TFI tonight, Channel 4. No idea if it’s a new interview, but it looks to be some sort of Dogma related publicity.
  • You may have seen the commercials…Deja.Com is a website that rates products and now, apparently, people. You can now rate Kevin Smith in their “Directors” category.
  • And finally today, good ‘ol Jason Lee…In a recent EW issue, they asked celebs what their favorite fake names were when registering for hotel rooms. He said, in true Lee fashion, “If I ever did, it’d definetely be Burt Reynolds”. Ya gotta love the guy. And to that one soul that laughed loudly at the Red Bank premiere of Dogma when Lee said “Mrs. Reynolds?” – Thanks for getting the joke.

Have a great weekend, folks! Thanks for shopping with us today.
