  • The Big List of Movie Mistakes has found 6 of ‘em in Dogma! Minor at best, but it’s always fun to find these things. Wanna know what they are? Surf over and see.
  • And finally today, a big THUMBS DOWN to the Washington Post for listing Dogma as the second WORST movie of the year. Sheesh! It’s alright not to like the film, guys, but you can’t seriously call Dogma the second worst of the entire year. Shame on you! You can do better than that. Then again, it’s a free country…

We’ll try and get one more quick update in tomorrow if there’s anything to talk about, then that’ll likely be it until 2000!!!! See ya.

Dogma #3 In The UK!

December 29th @ 12:00 am | No Comments » | Scooped by Vishal Sharma

  • Here’s the weekend figures from the UK Box Office. As you can see, Dogma did QUITE well given the number of screens that it was on. Congrats to View Askew and Film Four on a very respectable and profitable opening for the flick.
UK TOP TEN — December 24th–December 26th

1. The World Is Not Enough, £336,718 — 435 screens
2. Inspector Gadget, £316,969 — 452 screens
3. Dogma, £137,050 — 202 screens
4. Blue Streak, £130,228 — 317 screens
5. The Sixth Sense, £103,315 — 285 screens
6. The Iron Giant, £95,200 — 291 screens
7. End of Days, £82,294 — 369 screens
8. Anna and the King, £80,714 — 254 screens
9. East is East, £68,924 — 204 screens
10. Tarzan, £46,201 — 329 screens

Notice that Dogma was on the LEAST amount of screens of any of the top 10 flicks, and still managed to pull third. Nice.

Daredevil Project Directors…

December 29th @ 12:00 am | No Comments » | Scooped by Aug & Brodie

  • Dark Horizons reports today that the latest director on the lips of those inside the Daredevil feature film project is Stephen Norrington (“Blade”), but also surprisingly says that Marvel is considering bringing Kevin in to sit in the chair as well. Hmmm. We’re not sure if Kev would want to take it on, but we’d be there. Still, if they can at least get the guy to write the film, and it’s even HALF as good as the Marvel Knights series, we smell money:
“Many sources are now reporting that Marvel Entertainment is in talks with Blade director Steve Norrington to direct DAREDEVIL and the talks have been positive so far. Marvel Entertainment is also considering apparently none other than “Dogma” director Kevin Smith to helm it. Smith has had a very positive history with Marvel Comics AND The Horned One (Daredevil), he just finnished up a 6( or is it 7) issue run on the newly renewed Daredevil series and fans ate his work up and demanded for more. Marvel has been considering both Smith and Norrington for some time now and apparently only time (and talent) will tell who the director will be.”

Affleck Debunks Batman Rumors…

December 29th @ 12:00 am | No Comments » | Scooped by Jess & Patrick O'Reilly

  • As many of you know, Ben has officially come forth on his site to deny all the rumblings going around about him being Batman, and the more ridiculous one about his demanding that Gwyneth Paltrow play Catwoman before he take the role:
As I’m sure most of you might infer, this story is absurd. There is no Batman script, no movie being planned, they have not called me or my agent and Gwyneth is much more the “Electra” (daredevil reference) type…

I really have no idea where they get this stuff. It is as if someone sits in a room and quite literally invents it.

That’s what we thought.
