• Thanks to The K-Man, we’ve got a fairly compressed version of Kev appearing on Dennis Miller Live. The clip’s broken up into pieces to prevent TOO large of a download. So, we’re proud to bring you non HBO folks or those of ya who just plain missed it the first part of the Dennis Miller Live interview/discussion. Please don’t contact us over different formats or technical difficulties with the clip. Our capturing equipment is on the blink, so you’ve just gotta take this clip as-is. Worked great for us though. Enjoy, and look for the remaining part of the interview very soon.

• We’re receving rave reviews from Kevin’s appearance/signing session in Los Angeles at the Los Angeles Comic Convention. Kev appeared along with Scott Mosier and Dave Mandel to answer a bunch of questions (many regarding the Clerks TCS situation), as well as to screen the second episode of the series. Reports are coming in that the audience of around 500 again loved the show and couldn’t wait to see more. When asked about the show’s status, Kevin said he’ll know more in a week.

After the Q&A, Kevin sat and signed and chatted for everyone in attendance, and even came back to take pictures, sign, and chat some more with the remaining crew after a much needed break. Here’s a few VERY interesting tidbits that the guy seemed to hint about during the appearance:

• The Chasing Amy DVD is likely pushed back to an early 2001 release, but this is unconfirmed. No idea why this occurred.
• It’s highly likely that the Clerks cartoon will NOT air on television at all now.
• Mallrats 2 and Clerks 2 are definitely out for the next flick. The “ultimate Jersey flick” seems to be next on the slate, which Kevin said will bookend the films nicely as well as wrap everything up. Sounds way cool.

As always, the guy treats the fans VERY well, even after a long a tiresome day. Several fan reports we received cited this, and how happy they were with Kev’s kindness and down to earth nature. Once again, the guy makes us proud to run this site.

• You’re probably noticing a lot less on the update front lately. We’re around, it’s just been tough finding enough to gather for a full day’s news — Kevin & View Askew can’t be up to something new EVERY day, even though it may seem that way sometimes. We do have some information and fan reports from Kev’s con visit yesterday for ya today, which sounds like another in a long line of crowd-pleasing public appearances. Expect more of the same if you’re hitting any of the college shows in the coming weeks. Expect also a first look at the second episode of the Clerks cartoon, since it seems to be the norm for what the guy’s carrying to shows these days. We’ve also got the first part of Kev’s Dennis Miller Live interview in QuickTime format for ya today, and a couple other tidbits, so without further delay:

• WizardWorld.Com features a brand new Kevin Smith interview, in which he discussed the Clerks cartoon, Disney, and more. The interview page features new stills from the series (episode 1, from the looks of it), and more. Kev also mentions that Clerks 2 IS the planned next film in this article, but we figure it’s a bit dated and things have changed since then.Read this wonderful piece right HERE.
• A popular submission this weekend is a bite on a music video airing on MuchMusic, the Canadian MTV equivalent. Apparently a bad called “Rubber” created a music video with tributes to a ton of movies and TV shows, and in it, two Jay & Silent Bob-like characters barge into a character’s room and take over his TV. We heard it was pretty bad, yet humorous.
• We forgot to mention that Oni Press released the Clerks Trade Paperback to comic stores last week. It features the original Clerks book, the Holiday Special and The Lost Scene book in one bound copy for less than $12. We’re sure the Stash will sell it to, if not already. Collectors will want it just to have it, or, if ya missed the issues, it’s the perfect way to catch up.
