NBC Dramas Set New High Marks

Two NBC dramas pulled their strongest numbers ever Wednesday night, lifting the network to an impressive 11.2 rating and an 18 share for the night, according to Nielsen overnights. Particularly strong was the 10:00 p.m. Law and Order episode, which garnered a spectacular 14.2/23. The new drama The West Wing also impressed with an 11.0/17 at 9:00 p.m. ABC was a distant second for the night with an 8.2/13 average, followed by CBS with a 7.6/12 and Fox with a 4.9/8.

  • Yet another GLOWING review from a reputable source at AICN for Cameron Crowe’s new flick appears today. Again, the review mentions what a great job Lee does with his role of lead singer for the band, Stillwater, that’s portrayed in the flick. You can read this new review HERE.

Smith To Co-Script Bank Robber Flick?

  • Here’s a really weird-sounding scoop/rumor that originated on CNN Asia Entertainment News. Whether there’s some truth to this, or it’s just a monumental mix-up, we’re not sure, but here it is for your information, anyway. It seems a bit outlandish and we’ve yet to hear a peep out of this from any other camp, so it’s either a real inside scoop or a big mistake:
There’s a rumor going around that Kevin Smith is co-writing a Bank robbery gone wrong script with Vince Gallo that will surprise everyone, it won’t be a standard cops and robbers stand off, the whole thing is very hush hush and they aren’t even letting actors, Christina Ricci is one, who may be up for the part read the script, just pieces. Also it will be a big departure for KS in so far as it won’t be a comedy. Of course it’ll be a an NJ piece.

Sounds a bit thin to us, we have no idea why Smith would suddenly work with Gallo and the Ricci involvement makes it seem even more like a fan concotion, but still. There it is.

Chasing Amy DVD Soon?

  • Could we be seeing that Chasing Amy DVD in 2000, maybe even this summer, after all? Over at the Home Theater Forum Sean Anderson (Director Of DVD Development at Criterion) posted this little gem regarding the Criterion release of the disc:
“Chasing Amy is being compressed and authored over at DVCC as we speak, so it is coming. There are still a few clearance issues to be cleared up, nothing crazy or controversial just standard stuff, thus no release date as of yet.”

There ya have it, folks! We’ll keep ya posted.
