  • Weekends go by too fast anymore, don’t they? A 4 day work week would be much better…At any rate, there’s a few things to chat about today, though we will admit things have been generally slow for the past week, and we expect this to continue, aside from Kevin’s upcoming public appearances. We’ve got a summary of Kev’s fantastic Dennis Miller Live appearance for ya today, some information on the LA Con appearance that’s coming up, a wonderful amount of information from Kevin himself, and a new poll topic (suggested by James Healy) for ya. Let’s go:

  • We’ve got the new flyers for the LA Con that Kev’s expected to appear at as a makeup for the one he missed last month. Rumor has it he’ll be sceening an entire episode of Clerks TCS, so be sure and get there! The fun happens at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Downtown L.A. on March 19th. Kev’s appearance is scheduled for 2 PM, but we say just spend the day there, ya never know where and when you might catch the guy. He normally does good and makes a day of it.

  • It’s been a LONG time since this happened…But Kev went on a posting rampage over at his View Askew WWWBoard yesterday, with a TON of responses to posts with questions, general comments, and lots more. Normally, we can bring Kev’s big news to ya here, but this was more just some random stuff about a ton of different topics. To read Kev’s replies, surf over to the latest WWWBoard and look for the dude’s name in red. But hey, if ya really wanna skip the trip, here’s a summary of some of the stuff we hadn’t heard before. Read on, folks, a TON of the questions we hear every day around this place have been answered right in this news story:
Can you state for the record whether or not the Clerks and/or Mallrats sequels are dead prospects?

      ‘Mallrats’? Yes.

‘Clerks’? I’ll let you know in a week or so.

(On a query about buying back the Clerks TCS rights…)

Working on that as we speak. Stay tuned…

Still planning on the Mallrats comic sequel?

      Eventually, yes.

With the forthcoming closure of the viewaskewniverse, will Mewes be out of a job soon, or do you have roles in mind for him in your future endeavors?

Never, as long as I can help it. There will always be room for Mewes.

When will we hear news on your next project?

Either next week or a few months from now. [ED NOTE: This probably means that if Clerks 2 is the next flick, we’ll hear about it soon, and if not, he’s got another project as a backup that we’ll hear about in a couple of months since it’ll take a while to get all the ducks in a row.]

When is your Law & Order show gonna be on?

I’m not sure. Either next week or the week after, I think. They told me March. Rest assured, if it doesn’t air in March, I’ll be launching a full-scale internet attack on ‘Law & Order’ as well.

Do you know when the Barltelby and Loki one shot is coming out?

It’s not out, nor is it close yet. Sometime after the video release, I’d say. Maybe closer to the fall.

Is ‘3 more flicks and I’m out’ still a quote you’re still holding to, or are you gonna take it day by day?

I’m leaning toward the alcoholics’ mantra at this point.

Have you started writing the scripts for your Green Arrow run?

I’ve turned in my outline and heard good things so far. More next week.

Kevin Can you take Clerks TCS Elsewhere?

      Ask me in a week.

  • Kev Kills On Dennis Miller Live!

    • For those of you who’ve seen it, you know that Kevin once again made a kick-ass appearance on HBO’s Dennis Miller Live show on Friday night, chatting about his unexpected popularity (when Miller proclaimed Kev was the most requested guest on the internet), God, the bible, and even getting in a dig on the whole ABC situation. Our scooper sends in a play by play summary:
Miller’s monologue started with the political race, but quickly moved to a series of quips and rants about God and religion. Kevin came out (in his usual garb: t-shirt and blue sweat-jacket), and chatted up the same subjects with Dennis, only mentioning Dogma in passing. As usual, Kevin’s wit was in full swing, the best of which was a quick scenario about his daughter looking like Chris Rock.

The big highlight (for fans anyway), was The Eisner Diss, along with the whole “It’s wrong for this guy to be chuggin’ that dude’s dick…” bit.

As for the ABC diss, Miller was saying: “God is like the ultimate “Siskel & Ebert” review, if he gives you the thumbs down, you’re fuckin gone, straight to hell…”

Kevin agreed, actually he half pronounced the sentence with him, then quickly threw in: “Yeah, say hello to Eisner down there..” It seemed like he tried to slip it in without anyone really noticing, but the crowd caught it right away and let out a resounding “OOOOOOOOHHHH”. Kevin was surprised by the response, and when Dennis asked what the beef with Eisner was about, Kev replied “I had some trouble with ABC recently…” After that it was dropped, and minutes later, Miller did the outro with Kev and the show moved back into political satire and newsclips.

Once again, the big guy is thinking of his fans while he’s up there, and sneaking in something for us to chuckle at. He seemed to have a good sized fanbase in the studio audience, which gave him major props during his intro and his jokes, but they also must’ve sparked the bigger than expected reaction to his Eisner joke.

Good to see the man on TV once again: He’s lost weight, he’s confident, and best of all: he’s still leaving us all in stitches. Thumbs up, Noonch!

The show reruns TONIGHT on HBO for those of you that may have missed it on Friday.
