  • Here’s a blurb from Video ETA on the Banky & Brodie appearances in Jay & Bob Strike Back:
JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK UPDATE: IS THE ASKEWNIVERSE BIG ENOUGH FOR BANKY AND BRODIE?

Jason Lee has the enviable position in this movie of bringing “back to life” two well-loved characters from the View Askew film universe. But this will be the first time that Banky Edwards and Brodie Bruce will be in the same movie. Kevin Smith has already said that he won’t use expensive (but cool) special effects to have the two characters on the screen at the same time. In fact, Lee has confirmed that all his Banky scenes were filmed in L.A. while all of his Brodie scenes will be filmed in Red Bank, NJ. But the question remains, will diehard fans be able to handle the duality of Banky and Brodie? I’d love to see them meet each other whilst walking through the mall giving each other a mutual stink palm…”

  • You can catch Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back star Ali Larter on the cover of the new issue of Maxim, and in an article starting on page 100. It does mention the August release of Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, as well.
  • Brian O’Halloran appeared last night on web channel U8TV.com last night (though we hear it was in a hot tub, so be warned!). You can view the clip and read up on The Lofters (which is apparently another of those 24-hour webcam sites) right HERE.
  • Couple newsbites on other Askewniverse sites we’ve supported in the past: Apparently, website company Tripod have adopted some strict rules when it comes to sites they host, thus Art Askew AND the Fletch Won fanpage both got hit yesterday. Erik assures us that Art Askew will be back as soon as he can find a suitable home, and Fletch Won has already found a new home HERE. Apparently, the new Tripod rules forbid vulgar content and copyright infringement. UPDATE: Today, the Fletch webmaster got a note from Tripod apologizing and giving him BACK his site. So you can find it back at Tripod (http://fletchwon.tripod.com) OR at the Geocities addess above. No word on Art Askew just yet.
  • Kevin is mentioned in a recent Chicago Tribune article on the current state of comics. Here’s the quote:
Still, more than a few Hollywood personalities are getting into the game. “Chasing Amy” director Kevin Smith is currently writing “Green Arrow” for DC Comics, after his successful run last year on Marvel Comics’ “Daredevil.”

You can read the entire piece HERE

  • There’s another small blurb in Jeffrey Wells’ Reel column about delays in Vanilla Sky.
