• Wow, check this out! Here’s the next must-have item for any View Askew collector out there. The latest issue of Toyfare magazine presents our first look at the new Bluntman & Chronic action figures from Graphitti Designs. Check out how COOL these guys look! The monkey and the saber look like fantastic accessories too, and we’re sure there’s more to come. Here’s the blurb that ran with the ad:

“Jay and Silent Bob’s comic book alter-egos from JSBSB come to life in all their 8-inch glory, thanks to new figures from Graphitti Designs. Sportin’ 16 points of articulation apiece, Bluntman (that’s Bob) and Chronic (that’s be Jay) will be sold separtely, and come with replaceable hands. Chronic comes with a monkey, Bluntman with a “marijuana-leaf throwing star” and “bong saber.” Graphitti boss Bob Chapman also promises “a pile of poop someone stepped in.”

Above, you’ll see a scan of the article above …It’s not the best pic, but hopefully we’ll have a clearer first look at these guys once they come closer to production. • As mentioned earlier today, Mysterio’s run yet another of his on-set interviews from Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back. This one took place right around the time we were on set, back in February, during Mark Hamill’s few days on the film set. If you’ve watched the official trailer, or know the nature of Mark’s character, there’s no real spoilers inside, so read on as Mysterio talks to Hamill about his voiceover work, Star Wars, and, of course, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back. • Mike Dequina has placed transcripts of Kevin’s, Shannon’s, Eliza’s and Jen’s J&SBSB press junket interviews up at his website. Jason Lee’s stuff is coming soon.
• If you check out Marcy Playground’s website, there’s a quick little write up about their new “The Devil Song” being on the JSBSB soundtrack. Nothing big, but they sound pretty psyched about being on the soundtrack, and “The Devil Song” looks to be their first single off of their new album. Read the piece HERE.
• Clerks comes up again in this week’s Film Threat online poll. It’s the 10th anniversary of the film “Slacker”, so Film Threat asks which indie flick is the most important milestone of the last 10 years. Clerks is a choice. Cast your vote at the site HERE http://www.filmthreat.com.
• Citizens of Ottawa take heed: August 14th is Kevin Smith Night at the Mayfair theater. Clerks screens at 7:00 followed by Dogma. $8 for both flicks.
