Commentary…

July 15th @ 1:12 pm | No Comments » | Scooped by Brad & Chris

  • Howdy folks, hope you’re all having a good week. Got some of those Stroke 9 “Kick Some Ass” promotional CDs to give away…Yep, you can’t get these in the stores anywhere, and they’ve got Jay & Silent Bob all over them. How can ya get one, you ask? Well, starting this week, we’ll be choosing the most intelligent/on topic/meaningful talkback post for that week and awarding that user with a CD. Simple as that. So, keep that in mind when you’re posting! This should help to foster some better discussions there and keep it interesting. Good luck!

By the way, if anyone works or has connections with someone at US Air, Marriott hotels, or anything in the Orlando area, drop me a line…I’ll be flying there for a week this September.

And now, on with the news!

Release Date Of J&SBSB Bumped Up To August 22nd???

July 15th @ 1:11 pm | No Comments » | Scooped by Janie, Joshua, Schulz, Jim Scampoli & Walrus

  • The Upcoming Movies website broke this potentially BIG scoop, and says they’ve now confirmed it with Exhibitors Relations, so it does indeed seem that Miramax has bumped Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back up two days, from August 24th to August 22nd, a Wednesday! We realize this was confusing as we didn’t have the announcement sooner, but we had not received information from Miramax, Dimension, or anyone on this, still haven’t actually, but feel it’s best to run this story now before it gets too confusing. Keep in mind nothing official has still come into this website, but the Upcoming Movies site has always proved reliable, so we’ll hope this one’s true. Stay tuned for more solid info on this as we can confirm it.

Greg also tells us that, according to his website, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back is the third most anticipated this summer, behind Jusassic Park III and Planet of the Apes. Jurassic’s really not that good, either. So, after this month’s releases, it looks like J&SBSB is set to run away with a lot of business, at least according to those polled.

BLUNTMAN & CHRONIC Action Figures

They stormed the box office this summer in ‘Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back’, and now they’ve set their sights on comic book stores, just in time for Christmas! Bluntman and Chronic – the superhero secret identities of Jay and Silent Bob – are ready to set the collector’s market ablaze and give new meaning to the term “blunt”. Use ‘em in the privacy of your own home to recreate the thrilling adventures of the recent View Askew summer blockbuster, re-enact the hilarity of the best-selling Image graphic novel, or create your own, X rated adventures starring these crime-busting (and law-breaking) do(bage)-gooders and their faithful simian companion, Suzanne.

Based on model sheets by Michael Avon Oeming, each highly-detailed 8” tall figure is generously articulated and has been sculpted to create all of the details you expect. As with all Graphitti Designs products, we have gone the extra mile so that our figures will be the best around and will stand-out above the crowd.

  • If you want to see a slightly higher quality version of the J&SBSB theatrical trailer, a 300k stream was located and replaced, better than the old 100k stream we had before. The filesize is a bit larger, but audio and video quality are better. Still not the perfect Quicktime we’re hoping for, but hopefully that’s on the way.
  • The Toronto Star recently ran an article on Brian O’Halloran regarding the filming going on up there for the indie production “Drop Dead Roses”, in which a lot of View Askew stuff is discussed (though some of it seems somewhat uninformed). They speak with Brian who goes through the new film and lots of stuff from the past as well. Most interestingly, it again mentions the Clerks cartoon feature length R-rated film as a future project. Certainly seems like that one might be next on the slate. Check it all out HERE.
  • MGM has set a 10/2 street date for the recent Sigourney Weaver and Jennifer “Love” Hewitt comedy Heartbreakers, which features Jason Lee as well. Most of you probably skipped this one theatrically, so now’s your chance to check it out at home.
  • This week’s Starz Movies News will have Shannon Elizabeth from the Jay and Silent Bob junket talking about “13 Ghosts” and the week after that they’ll have Jason Lee talking up “Vanilla Sky.” The Dogma DVD gets a mention in their monthly DVD run down, which should air in the next couple of weeks as well. You can catch Starz! Movie News during various times throughout the week on the channel.
  • We mentioned this before, but it seems a lot of folks missed it…IGN has run the story again with more details so here ya go: Clerks: Uncensored has been nominated for a “DVD Discus Award for Creative Excellence” for “Best Use and Integration of Web Content” … here are the other nominees:
