  • Now THIS is cool. Moviefone’s put their “Guide To The Askewniverse” online. This one’s so good, we might hafta ask to steal it for the News Askew archives. Send anyone who’s planning to see the film this weekend without seeing the other flicks first to check this out for sure. You’ll dig it, too. Check it out HERE!
  • Kevin called in to the nationally syndicated Opie & Anthony radio show yesterday around 5:15 PM. He called from his residence in LA and mentioned last night’s Leno gig. He really just called to plug the movie but he also joked around with O&A and Jerry “The King” Lawler (who also called in before Kevin). It was a short call but he got his message out and O&A were behind him 100%. They said he didn’t need to plug the movie because they know it’s going to be a huge opening and everybody is already going. A good sign for sure. Due to Lawler’s involvement, wrestling websites such as this one are also picking up the story.
  • We told ya we’d keep track for ya, and the news is good: The Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back Soundtrack is the ‘Pacesetter’ for the week, moving up to #55 from #92. Next stop, the top 25!
  • Another appearance we missed: Shannon’s appearance on Craig Kilborn Tuesday night. She promoted the film quite well, as they chatted about the film, her jewel thief character, and Kilborn did his “5 questions” with her. She was on there quite a bit, and they mentioned the flick a number of times. A good appearance.
  • Starz News: STARZ CINEMA spotlights Kevin Smith’s two films prior to JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK tomorrow night – DOGMA & CHASING AMY – at 8 and 10:15pm, respectively. Thanks to ZENtertainment for the news. Also, at 7:30 PM, before the flicks start, watch Starz! Movie News for footage from the premiere and…A NewsAskew plug! Exactly one week later, they’ll have a 6 minute Kevin Smith Profile, which will cover his career and how writing comics has effected his film work.More information right HERE.
  • In this press release, Kevin is cited as one of the reasons for the incredible jump in attendance at this year’s San Diego Comic Con.
  • This week’s “You’ll All Be Sorry” column has a joke about Kevin’s upcoming run on “The Brave and the Bold.”
