  • Could it be…A sooner UK release date for Jay & Silent Bob? According to Buena Vista UK, the official UK distributors of J&SBSB, the UK release date is, at the moment, November 30th, NOT Dec 21st as mentioned on the Internet MovieDatabase. Apparently, it never has been Dec 21 – that was an invention. The first official release date given is November 30th. Good news for those of you across the pond.
  • A couple more articles of interest: First this, new Chicago Tribune article called “He’s One Of Us” discusses Kevin’s dedication to the fans. Check it out, it’s one of the better articles we’ve read lately.

Also, there’s this piece from the International Herald Tribune, which is a combination of the Washington Post, the New York Times, and AP/Reuters wire, and the most respected American newspaper abroad.

  • Last night, Extra ran a story on J&SBSB. They mentioned it’s number three spot and that it made a big impact at the box office this weekend. The cast was mentioned, along with Kevin’s other films. If anyone caught it on tape and can send us a capture, let us know.
  • Alternative star Moby gives Jay & Bob a BIG thumbs up at his official website this week. Here’s his thoughts:
so let’s talk about culture, ok?

high culture. fine art. fine film. a fine film on the surface of a pond.

i just saw what is without question the best movie of the year, ‘jay and silent bob strike back.’ i haven’t laughed that much in a long, long time. so, karmically, kevin smith has done a good thing in that laughter strengthens peoples immune systems. so he has contributed to my health and well-being.

‘jay and silent bob’ is outstanding. flawed, of course, but charming for its flaws. but so funny. -moby

  • Here’s that scan of the ad that replaces Lee and Ferrell with Eliza Dushku and Ali Larter. Looks like a quick change just for the print ads, so we doubt there’s another one sheet that exists in this fashion.
  • Mallrats, Dogma, Clerks, and Chasing Amy are all on the top 10 list of quotes pages listed at the IMDB (the first three being in the top 3 spots)! Lots of fans here on the net for sure.
  • DVD supersite dvd.ign.com asked top reviewers what they think should be the definitive DVDs for budding filmmakers, and two critics list various Kevin films (both Clerks and Clerks Uncensored) in their top five choices. Check out the full story HERE. IGN Filmforce also mentions the film today, in their poll “What’s the best road trip comedy of the past 20 years?” Jay & Bob currently lead the way.
