Another TV For Sale! Want It?
- Hey folks, Chris here – I’m looking to sell my TV…It’s one of those BIG 37” Sony WEGA sets, really nice, only a little over a year old. Comes with a stand as well. If you’re interested, send me an email and I can send you photos, more specs, and the like. Nothing at all wrong with it, I’ve taken perfect care of it, it’s in great shape. Just looking at going to a big projection set (this is a tube TV, just about the biggest of those you can get). The flatscreen picture is excellent, many say the best in the business. Anyway, if you’re interested, let me know!
The Latest From Kevin…
- Kevin’s been hitting the View Askew WWWBoard more frequently now that Jersey Girl has finished shooting. He’s also been answering some fairly interesting questions, too. Here’s a summary of what we recently learned:
- An “internet exclusive” trailer for Jersey Girl will likely show up in the next few months.
- Work is now going to get started on the Clerks 2-disc Special Edition DVD.
- Talks are currently going on regarding the Clerks cartoon movie.
- The release of “Jersey Girl” depends a lot on the release of “Gigli”, as they don’t want 2 Ben/Jen flicks coming out around the same time.
- Finally, you can own the ultra-rare “Mallrats” book once given by Kevin to Malcolm Ingram himself! Bid on that one HERE.

- We ran the scoop about Lucas’ View Askew mention during the new Star Wars: Attack of the Clones DVD commentary. Here’s a transcript of exactly what he says, and an audio clip as well (he mistakes Dante & Randal for Jay & Silent Bob, but at least he seems to know SOMETHING regarding the famous Clerks scene):
“We had this sequence and because we added it… err, I came up with the idea of adding a little schematic of the Death Star in here because the Geonosians build robots and build things; They’re a sort of construction workers. They would be the ones that probably contracted to build the Death Star and… err, they were the ones that Jay and Silent Bob worried that they got killed on the Death Star but they are after all just a bunch of large termites.”
- ABCnews.com has confirmed the Affleck/Lopez engagement:
The pair met last December while filming the upcoming gangster movie Gigli, which they co-star in. Their romance became public this summer when they were photographed kissing in public on numerous occasions. During an interview with Primetime’s Diane Sawyer, airing on Wednesday night, Lopez was at first coy on the marriage question, laughing and saying only that, “We’re very, um, secure with our relationship.”
But a few minutes later, during a break to change tape, Lopez thought a minute, called Affleck, and then said they had decided to go on the record.
Sawyer then asked, “Are you engaged?” and Lopez replied, “Yes.”
People Magazine ran a detailed story on this as well.
- Check out a review of the just-released “Daredevil: Target” issue #1 right HERE.
- UK Askew spots a striking similarity in this still from the new animated Adam Sandler flick — Sure looks a lot like Bartleby in Dogma!
- Shipping to comic stores this Thursday — A new issue of Toyfare (#65) with Jay & Silent Bob toys featured on the cover! And, don’t forget, Monkey Man Unleashed #2!
Jersey Girl Shooting Finishes!
- Kevin confirmed that Jersey Girl celebrated their last day of shooting yesterday, finishing things up in New York City with Affleck and Lopez. They did just add one more day of shooting in Los Angeles this January, but the main schedule has now been completed. Interestingly enough, Kevin also confirmed that the next Vulgarthon will likely happen closer to the Jersey Girl release. So, we expect a Vulgarthon probably around next October, where lucky fans who get tix will be among the first to see the film! We’ll keep you posted.
Tonight Show’s JG Coverage!
- We were unable to get a good capture of the Tonight Show clip, and we’d love to make it available for anyone online who hasn’t seen it yet, as it was fantastic. On Friday night, here’s a summary of what
- Kevin and wife Jennifer appeared at the start of the segment. She made a wise crack about her role in the movie & the bedroom. “Small role in the film. Small role in the bedroom”.
- Kev showed the front page of the NY Post, Friday 11/8 edition, with a pic of Ben & J-lo kissing.
- Kevin then introduced a clip of “behind the scenes” at Jersey Girl.
- “Jersey Girl” Raquel Castro was talked to briefly. She mentioned she saw a tiny bit of Dogma when she was going to the bathroom.
- Kevin asked the cinematographer if he’d seen “Clerks” to which he replied yes. Kev then asked “What did you learn from there?”. His reply: “What not to do”.
- Liv Tyler: Liv & Kev related a story about the first day of shooting. Apparently, Kevin came up behind Liv & patted her butt, thinking that Liv was actually Jen. Kevin got Liv to speak some Elvish, too.
- And finally, Affleck. Kevin and Ben talked about their friendship & the movies. Leno came into the conversation and attempted to get Ben to admit his recent engagement. They played the bit off as losing the connection.
Hopefully we’ll somehow get an online version of this clip soon as well.

- The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is holding a Jay and Silent Bob movie marathon this Saturday, starting at noon. No idea if they’re letting non-students in, but you could always try and crash — They’re showing all 5 of Kevin’s films and giving away prizes. It’s gotta be too cold to be outside there now, sounds like a good way to spend a day inside.
- This website dedicated to a wrestler named Raven gives some info and links on a Dogma t-shirt, plus a nice link right to us…So of course we thought we’d do ‘em a solid right back.
- And finally today, a happy birthday to Jeremy London (Mallrats’ T.S. Quint), who turned 30 today. He’s currently seen doing some part-time work on the WB’s “7th Heaven”, though is notorious for not being one of the favorite actors to grace the View Askew scene.
Now You Know Screening: Correction!
- Thanks to so many of you who wrote in to let us know that there was a discrepancy in the date that we ran regarding the “Now You Know” screening — According to the Facets website , the flick will NOT show on the 14th, but rather on November 13th (which is a Wednesday) at 7 PM. We’re going to go with the website schedule for now, but we’ll let you know if we hear differently. Sorry for any confusion.
