Are Daredevil and Elektra having a superbaby? Well, maybe off-screen. E! Online reports that Jennifer Garner is expecting Ben Affleck’s child, citing multiple sources close to the couple as having confirmed that Garner is three months pregnant. The stork report comes just two weeks after People and other outlets published reports that the ‘Daredevil’ costars had become engaged. The baby would be the first for both Affleck, 32, and Garner, 33. Still no word on when Ben and Jen might wed; the marriage would be the first for Affleck and the second for Garner, whose 2 1/2-year marriage to former ‘Felicity’ costar Scott Foley ended in 2003.

Affleck publicist Ken Sunshine declined on Saturday to respond to E!’s pregnancy report, saying he doesn’t comment on his client’s personal life; then again, Sunshine has also dismissed reports that Affleck and Garner are engaged, despite published descriptions of the proposal and the ring. Garner’s rep has not commented on the baby news.

A November due date for Garner could pose some production problems for ‘Alias.’ Producers may have trouble writing her pregnancy into the plot, since Sydney’s eggs were harvested last season. On the other hand, it would be hard to hide the pregnancy with the typical baggy costumes that expectant TV actresses often wear, since Sydney favors skin-tight outfits. And production of Alias, which is scheduled to resume in July, can’t begin any sooner, since Garner will spend much of the next two months in Vancouver shooting the romantic comedy ‘Catch and Release.’ Still, if anyone can wriggle out of such a tricky situation, it’s Sydney Bristow.

As tabloid reports circulate that have the Alias star ready to marry Ben affleck and/or pregnant (not that we’re buying into either), rehearsals for the film Catch and Release get underway in Vancouver this weekend (although at press time, it was looking like it had been pushed back by a few days)

Beau Affleck won’t be around much, considering he’s playing George Reeves in Truth, Justice, and the American Way about the investigation into the supposed suicide of Reeves, who played Superman in the 1950’s TV series. Filming just got under way in Toronto.

However, there’s a lot Affleck related about Catch and Release , besides Garner. Kevin Smith one of his best buddies, has been cast in a big role. Smith, of course, is the writer and director behind early Affleck flicks such as Mallrats, Chasing Amy, and Dogma, and appeared as Silent Bob in those flicks.

Also rumored for a role is Jason Lee, who starred in the above Smith flicks.

And there’s the involvement of Jenno Topping (which probably started the whole ball rolling), who is married to Chris Moore, the co-creator of Project Greenlight (among other Affleck related projects), Affleck and Matt Damon’s reality show for budding movie makers. Moore wil be in town to babysit their two kids while Topping works on Catch and Release.

Smith, by the way, is driving here with his wife and young daughter and most likely the couples two dogs, who should be right at home in Vancouver.

After all, their names are Scully and Mulder.
