  • Kevin and Trevor appeared on Detroit radio as part of the ongoing Clerks II promotion. This time, it was WKRK, where the BIG NEWS slipped: Clerks II AND Now You Know will share a DVD release date: December 5th, 2006. This is of course, subject to change, but at presstime, that’s what we’ve got. Way cool, eh? There’s a complete podcast (in two parts) of the appearance under the “Deminski and Doyle” banner on the left. The links are there, but we hear they won’t actually start working until sometime this weekend.

Another area station, WRIF has also posted a short summary and a couple of pics from Kevin and Trevors appearance at their place. We believe Trevor will now be joining Kevin for further dates on his radio tour, as he mentioned he’d be travelling with Kevin for the upcoming Boston gigs this weekend as well.

Minnesota Home To Kev’s Next?

  • Exciting news! TwinCities.com reports that Kevin will return to Minnesota to film his next flick, a non-Askewniverse production. He also reveals it is indeed a romantic comedy, he’s hoping for snow (required in some scenes), and writing a part for Rosario Dawson:
Minnesota, here he comes: ‘Clerks’ director wants snow

When Kevin Smith visited St. Paul Tuesday to promote “Clerks II,” which opens here July 21, he already was planning his next visit to Minnesota. Next time, he’ll be making a movie.

The untitled romantic comedy will be Smith’s second film shot in Minnesota — he made “Mallrats,” most of which was shot at Eden Prairie Center, back in the winter of 1994. “Fargo” was shooting here at the same time, although that production ended up moving north to try to find the snow that was needed for many of its scenes. That makes Smith — who needs snow for his movie, too — a mite nervous, but he’s still committed to filming scenes here.

No casting has been announced, but Smith says he’s hoping “Rent” star Rosario Dawson, who’s in “Clerks II,” will be in it. “She knows I’m writing it and she knows there’s a part for her,” says the writer-director-actor.

We’ll keep you posted as we learn more about this mystery movie!
