- Two new Dogma-related pics for ya today, from recent press pieces from Parade and Rolling Stone…Enjoy! They don’t expand much larger, sorry to say, but that’s the size in which they were published! Those of you that read the script may be able to pinpoint where in the flick these shorts originate.
- The New York Film Festival has posted FULL details on all the screenings and more at their official site. Tickets got on sale September 12th! To save some of you the time, though: Dogma shows at Alice Tully Hall at 6 PM on October 4th, and again at 9:15 PM on October 5th.
- A new Alanis article’s been posted around the net where she again speaks of Dogma and “Stillâ€, here’s Cinescape‘s nice, tidy summary of it:
Alanis Morrisette says that Kevin Smith’s controversial take on religion, Dogma, “is very funny.†While talking to the New York Post, the singer explained that the character of God she plays in the film saying, “I think Kevin’s view of Gos is that God is us.†She adds more specifically, “she runs, in a really tiny amount of time, the gamut of emotions – vulnerable, happy, disappointed, indifferent, compassionate.†Morrisette has also provided the film’s soundtrack with a song titled “Still.â€
- It looks like “Clerks†is going to be inducted into the “B-Movie Hall Of Fameâ€!
B-MOVIE CLASSICS
CLERKS (1994), directed by Kevin Smith. Critically-acclaimed indie comedy focusing on the agonies and ecstasies of malcontented video store clerks.
The film’s among some really good company, too…And the press release mentions that the committee was surprised at the outpouring of votes for Clerks, being that it was such a recent film. We never thought of Clerks as a B-Movie ourselves, really, but being inducted is an honor as it seems people vote for their favorites out of admiration. You can read the entire piece and more at the B-Movie Site or the Hall Of Fame page.
See ya.
